I don't think they want to burn a year of his entry level deal . He is getting paid his NHL salary but if he plays more than 9 games it is burnt . In this case I do not understand why the NHL does lets him play in the AHL and makes an exception to the transfer rule . It is not like the Sabres or Zadarov do not want to send him to London . My fear is that if he goes back to the homeland and those tax free KHL dollars he might not come back.

The CHL controls that as they are the ones the team can petition. The NHL stands by the CHL ruling.

I always found it ironic that there is to be a separation of church and state but when going through court ordered AA part of the process is to find god.
