I think I'm already there... Couturier/Read/Umberger didn't see a single Off-ZS the entire game... like wtf.

I'd love to see him roll with:

12-28-17
24-14-93

as the top two lines.

I get that but you also can't always blame starting in your own zone.

That's fair. Honest question: what do you want to see from Read?

They're all coming to the same conclusion but in different ways, more or less, so that's really what's being argued. Plus some of the principles behind it. Also, there is bad blood.

I don't think u need advanced stats to tell u this team sucks or what can be done to improve it.

Not really. Some people think this is a playoff team with a defense ranked in the middle third of the league.

Others disagree.

Sorry, just don't think a line tweak here or a benching there is gonna help this team.

They are put together terribly and they are paying the price.

What I mean is that you both agree the team is struggling now but with different opinions on why and what the long term expectation is. So you basically agree that the team is 1-3-2.

I agree there are ways to put the pieces together in more innovative ways... hopefully Chief will reach that same conclusion sooner than later.

These ass clowns would have been better if they blew it up during the lockout....(frank)ing seriously .... last year was a fluke because everyone was healthy... this year they just plain old suck.

Joe, I agree they need a top-line LW. They also need a 2nd line center that can take the pressure off of G, and we won't even get started on the defense.

Here's the thing. Read is not the guy you put in that package. He is performing a valuable role.

To me, a package would need to revolve around ONE of Laughton or Couturier. There is redundancy there. As I've said it before, long term there is just not enough offense with G-Couturier-Laughton down the middle. Laughton should fetch you a young, high-end LW.

There was one rush that stood out even more than the rest... Forget the kids names, but he BLEW by Schenn on the outside and created a breakaway from the blueline in. Mason was forced to make a very tough save.

Any trade the Flyers make right now would be a disaster. They are dealing from a position of complete weakness, and every team in the NHL knows it.

How so? Winnipeg has a very good group of young D who are just starting to emerge onto the roster anchored by good vets. They have a group of fairly young forwards also just emerging onto the roster which is filled in with good vets. The one thing the Flyers have over them right now is a dynamic Hart Trophy finalist in Claude Giroux and a better goalie in Steve Mason.
- jmatchett383

Kane isnt playing to the best of his abilities. And hasn't for a while now it seems.

They have such a hole in their scoring depth thst they've had to again move Buff back to forward.

Their goalie is as pedestrian as they come.

Their team hasnt even sniffed the playoffs in god knows how long.

Outside of their core they are overall a very meh roster.

In two years if the Flyers hopes are to be the current Jets then the rebuild will have to be viewed as a failure.

Read is farther along in age tho. I'd rather move him and keep Laughton or couturier. Besides Laughton or couts (now perhaps) could be those guys if you give them the chance.

More. Right now I don't see much. He doesn't seem to be using his speed or really engaging physically. I can't place it but I want to see more.
