I disagree Bailey has showed much more this year. With that being said I think he has to step up another notch. With the exception of Halak no islander players showed any battle level against pitts. - dack1972
Eh I want to see more from him myself. Sometimes he needs to think hockey. Seems like he daydreams out there at times |

blame Kulemin or Bailey? - DDM-Coga
Kulemin and Bailey have actually been playing well. I blame Matt martin and Conacher should be on the 4th line |

Bailey looked great last year too the first couple of weeks into the season. then he will go invisible until the last month. - mighty13duck
this is why I'm not ready to be happy about his play. He needs to sustain it

I call him "Bookend Bailey". He starts and finishes every season great. It's what he does in the 60 games in between that kills me. It's important to keep in mind that he does this every season and everyone gets all excited.
"We finally got the Josh Bailey we've been waiting for." Then he pisses all over himself for 60 games like Vukota at the home opener's tailgate.

Actually I believe it was the opposite. He looks like crap the first couple weeks and turns it on when the games mean nothing. |

No remember last year the first couple of weeks everybody thought we had the great bailey back. I think he even scored an ot winner against the pens. |

Actually defense and goaltending win games. Just ask the DEvils when they won their cups. Ask the Rangers last year. If you have a goalie and defense who are lights out then you really just need one or two goals to win - kasperrko
exactly.
point is effort doesnt win...the team with the most goals after 60/65 minutes do. |

thats the perfect name for him...he is very solid beginning and end of seasons.
having said that, after 4 games hes been good. |

Hopefully Cappuano will sit him or reduce his role if that happens as we have depth this year. I don't remember seeing Bailey playing good at the beginning of last year. He did pick it up at the end. |

I agree. I 'm been disappointed in the entire fourth line. They seem to be on the ice more than any other line 5 on 5.I was a big supporter of Clutterbuck. I really thought he would have a good year. I even went as far as saying he would get more points than Nino. I stand corrected. |

He has disappointed me as well. I can see why the wild didn't want to sign him long term. |

He usually starts playing well when there is no pressure on him. When the Islanders get eliminated from the playoffs he starts to play great.
He belongs on a team like Florida no pressure at all he would be a star |

So does anyone else find it interesting how over the last couple of years in particular that the Islanders injuries have always coincidentally come at the same time someone’s coming off an injury? It’s been very convenient that we haven’t had to put anyone on waivers because someone else always seems to get hurt at the same time.
Curious if it’s just me that noticed this.

He was a better player for them. Hes an effective fourth liner and a decent penalty killer for us. He was a little bit more for the wild. I think that injury he got his first season with us set him back. I like him but I like him on the fourth line. Hes being completely misused on the second line. |

I was curious about that too. But this is the Islanders we are talking about with Wang and Snow. Next year will be a whole new story.
I honestly feel no matter how good Jack does this year he is gone at the end of the year. New owners usually want their own guys. Not somebodys left overs |

I think thats luck more than anything else. Somehow that still didnt work out well for us? |
