That's 6, not 3.
The point is, just because these guys have a strong preseason or are having nice junior/AHL seasons does not mean they're ready to be thrown into the NHL.
Like someone said, if this season is toast anyway (unless you think Ghost and Laughton make them a contender), what's the harm in them playing top minutes and seeing all different man-power situations in the AHL? How does it hurt their growth? - jmatchett383
Because as somebody else said its not really gonna hurt them all that bad to be promoted either. |

Bring up alt, lauridsen, and manning first... - moylander
Aye... sink or swim time for the latter two, especially. If they aren't up to snuff, flush em out of the system entirely. No sense in keeping them down there forever so Nick Schultz can continue his unremarkable career. |

Won't hurt them that bad. Why hurt them at all? Would you rather them play sparse minutes in ES-only NHL time or top minutes in multiple manpower situations in the AHL?
I'm just totally blown away by how people see no difference between AHL and NHL player development and how it varies from player to player. |

He was for the first 2 games he was up. The honeymoon is over, however. Kinda like that guy they had at the tail end of 12/13, what was his name? I think he came from Detroit. |

So 2 games is enough evidence for you that he's totally prepared for top-4 NHL duty? - jmatchett383
Nah. I want to give him a couple months. My point is there's no REAL reason to leave him down there. He's better than what we have. I think Alt and Morin are better than what we have.
On solely the basis of he HAS to be down there, I'm against it. He doesn't have to be down in the AHL. He's not going to be a better or worse player playing in the minors. It's all crap. There's no evidence that players with drive and talent get better playing in the minors for an extended time. it's just a ruse for this team to throw out a terrible product because they are "waiting for the kids to develop and showing patience." |

So you see zero difference between honing your game against AHLers before playing against NHLers as opposed to going straight from college to the NHL? You see no difference at all in those developmental paths? |

it is obscene. like i said i know everything gets marked up, but that just seemed like one of the most ridiculous things ive ever seen. the profit ratio for fries at regular restaurant prices is a winner. at that rate, its astronomical. |

My thing is so many people want Hextall to develop our prospects properly and now 6 games in we want to change course and rush someone up. All offseason people were happy hextall placed and emphasis on developments and drafts and now people say (frank) it. I think Hextall knew this woube a tgh season and even said before it would take a step back before moving forward. - J35Bacher
Nope. This was my course all along. Two rookies in the lineup by January, Morin gets 9 games. You can read it in the HB library. |

They could probably have as many minutes as they want this season. I don't think minutes would be an issue - its not like we are the hawks with Keith, oduya, hammer, and seabs penciled in the lineup. A guy like mark streit may provide ghost better guidance/mentoring than brandon manning can. |
