You're taking what I'm saying to an extreme. I've only lobbied for like three in the prospect pool, Laughton, ghost, alt/manning/Haag to get brought up, maybe even Leir - JoeRussomanno
Honestly what is the point? Are any of those kids going to make a difference right now? I'd sooner see them all get major minutes in the A. The only ones I would consider bring up would be Manning/Lauridsen/maybe Alt but are they better than what is on the big club? I think not.
people were jumping off the bridge last year at this time and they turned it around. While I agree they got worse with swapping Hartnell for Umberger and losing Timonen, this team can still be a playoff team. Personally I go back and forth on what I want to see happen but one constant is I want to see them remain patient and build within. it is a shame G is in him absolute prime but I still think they need to remain patient. |

There is another option everyone seems to forget. Trading youth for youth. A lot of people here seem to think making a trade is mortgaging the future. If I can move a 23yr old for a 23-25yr old that actually fits the team, well I'm definitely making that move. They're called hockey trades. Not everything needs to be a blockbuster move that involves moving guys under 22 for a 30 yr old. - hereticpride
I don't think anyone's forgetting that. I think it's the first 2 weeks of the regular season and most GMs want to see what their youth can do before cutting ties with them. Also, if our players are underperforming and the team is playing badly, any trade we make is from a position of weakness where we'd be bent over. |

Schenn was taken way too high in the draft.
Sbisa was ruined... and he can't stay healthy. |

Each guy is different. Luke Schenn and Luca Sbisa are thrown into the fire and never hit their max potential. Drew Doughty and Kris Letang come up young (Doughty his draft year and Letang played 10 AHL games) and are number 1 dmen. Then there are guys like Erik Johnson who struggle for awhile after being thrown into the fire and start putting it together later on. Might be it has nothing to do with being rushed or not. Might be that if I guy was going to pan out, he would unless the situation was excessively bad for him. - NickTheKid87

If it helps u win games it makes all the difference in the world. This is an organization that has had its best years with ypung players at the helm.

Well, Ottawa was under attack. One solider was killed.
Flyers should rush all of their prospects now.
Berube needs to go.
Coburn is the worst defenseman in ever.
Ill behaved for McDavid. |

Very possible. Some guys peak at 18, others at 20, 25, 29, etc. Could be that their talent hit its boundaries early. I think that is a bigger factor than being rushed or what have you. |

Right, but when you start to put these kids into the NHL, you'd want some vets around them while they're adjusting. Do you want those vets to be AMac and MDZ? - jmatchett383
i'd rather have someone intelligent with the kids rather than coburn |

I'm sure it had some effect on MDZ, Sbisa, Schenn, etc. but I, personally, think that the "rushing" effect is widely overstated and given too great of emphasis. |
