Uhh, that's a lot of empty seats in Pittsburgh. - hereticpride
pathetic. and people are always shown leaving early too.
i dont know how much money one can make where they can plunk down a few hundred for an evening and not squeeze all they can out of the experience, but thats just sad.

Is eichel more a goal scorer? What current pro would his game possibly project to? - Just5
He's like a Nash and Krieder molded into a beast of a player. |

The problem with Luke Schenn is not that he's bad. Because he's not. But what's not happening, is he is not pushing for icetime. He's not pushing to move past Grossmann to move up the depth chart and get more responsibility. - MJL
That's like saying, the problem with poop isn't that it's gross, it just doesn't smell good and I'd rather not eat it. |

Well every team needs veterans and ones that know the system already, Coburn would probably be the best of all of them to keep. Obviously in 3 years the team defense is not going to be all of the prospects. If the Flyers are lucky 2 of the prospects are in the lineup in 3 years. - Glak18
true. coburn shouldnt be your best defender. but he is a passable guy on the first pair with someone better than him, or fantastic to have on your second pairing. |

if we want to get into the well hes not a finished product yet thing, then fine. there really isnt a way to quantify the whole will he get any better thing. but to me, i cant see any one thing that he does exceptionally well. im not saying he is strictl echl fodder, but i dont think he really should be viewed as a core piece or a priority. i think he is currently slightly overpaid as it is, and really is best suited as as a third pair guy. the fact that that the flyers have both him and grossmann is a detriment to me.
this isnt just crap on the flyers players, as i think there is actually quite a bit of talent on the team. but luke schenn isnt a piece i really would value at this point.
and we could be getting into semantics here, but I would take your description of his scenario and put it in the bad category. either he doesnt have it, and hes bad. or he has it, and hes not pushing, and to me thats even worse. - stayinthefnnet
I understand that. And really the sand clock for Luke Schenn getting better is almost out of sand. His strength is his physical play, and he makes a decent pass. But his positioning and reading of plays, isn't where it needs to be. Especially with the former due to average at best skating.

I mean I get that it's a late weekday game but it's Flyers/Pens!
It looks like there are a solid 15-20 open seats in each section of the lower level. |

he will probably come up with some failed attempt at a pass that ends up defying physics and finding its way to the back of the net since i just badmouthed him. |

Shifts where a player jumps off the bench on a line change while the puck is in play, don't count towards zone start statistics.

He's a Carter/Perry/Getzlaf amalgam. Sinister toe drag, great shot, superb speed, and a stellar playmaker to boot. Size and a bit of jam as well. |

exactly. his skating is always going to be meh. i get that. you cant get blood from a stone. but if he is going to earn his keep being a guy who uses his mass to prevent other people from occupying ice space, he needs to get better at reading the play to get there first. he doesnt have recovery speed to rectify bad reads. i just dont see anything special about him. |

Not this one! I'd rather the team go down the drain rather than just sit on the rim of the seat. |
