It was a weak play. But he played well otherwise, didn't you think? - AllInForFlyers
Overall he was good. But that type of weak board play, and the way he goes so deep into the offensive zone, is going to lead to a lot of high quality shots for the other team when Luke Schenn is his partner. |

This game shows that the Flyers, when they play like they're capable of, can be a solid team. That they can check, and play a puck pressure 200 foot game. And can play solidly on the forecheck. And that their despicable and horrid defenseman, if they have the support, can play a solid game. And they did that against the top offensive team in the league. Now they just have to build on it, and bring that kind of effort to the rink every game. If they can do that, and there is no doubt in my mind they can. This is a playoff team. |

Sure hasn't been Mason's fault at all this year. You can only save so many shots in a row before you expect the team to clear the puck. |

Not if it's done right and the 3rd forward in the Center lock plays it right. Flyers controlled the neutral zone tonight. Big reason why they won the game.

This team hates Mason.

other teams should only scout the flyers for trades when they play in pitt. too bad vinny wasn't in the line up so he could score 3 and we could unload him while his value is high |

but out comes the geniuses blaming the goalie - JoeRussomanno
i dont think hes up there with the top handful of goalies, but mason is more than competent on his average days, and sprinkles in some pretty good ones to boot. however, between the poorly constructed defense and lackluster forward effort mason gets most games he has had no chance this year.
emery played well tonight, but the team skated in front of him with more effort than the rest of the season so far combined.
i do like stats, but they are a really bad way of evaluating goalies until we find a way to quantify quality of shots. the same people that will look at mason this year and say hes awful are probably the same people last year saying emery was old and washed up because emery basically only got trotted out there for the second games of back to backs against tough teams in which he received no help. |

I wonder what kind of impression B Schenn made on all those scouts at the game?
He was involved a lot, but also looked a 1/2 second late on a lot of plays. |

We'll see if they can carry this momentum. They haven't been able to in the past and have always reverted back after beating the Pens. |

Never mind BSchenn, now's the time to get a 1st round pick for Umberger. |
