As an RFA im wondering if MDZ has much trade value. He had his choice if where he wanted to go in the offseason. I'm sure he shot a few destinations down. I wonder if Carolina would give up a pick for him. - hereticpride
Del Zotto could be good in the right situation. Sheltered minutes and PP time. Not paired with L.Schenn. |

It's not that. We've had a number of guys from juniors come up (Coots at 18, Lindros at 19 are prominent). But when a guy has some serious things to work on, why throw him into a situation he's not prepared for and give him less playing time? - jmatchett383
Exactly. Give Ghost a chance to work on being a top four defenseman in the AHL and a chance to succeed in that role before bringing him up.
Then hopefully he reaches that potential at the NHL level once he's shown he can handle it in the AHL. |

Exactly it can work I just don't agree with this absolutism that every player needs to stay in the minors until whenever... There's players on the team now that need to work on things. I think too many are stuck on guys like sbisa who probably never would have made it to begin with. |

If spots are open, there's a (slight) chance that a guy like Morin could potentially step in next year, assuming he plays well when he comes back. But most players who are not superstars could do well by having some AHL time, it helps develop you for the NHL. It's different for every player. Laughton could have gone either way. But for a guy like Ghost, playing in the AHL is best for him right now. |

Don't worry. The 8-1-2 stretch once eliminated from playoff contention will put a little bounce in your step. |

I've said it once and I'm gonna say it again:
Why is the Lehigh Valley Phantoms website just awful?
The most recent content on the "News" page is from April 2014.
They rarely have any actual content available to viewers and it's an impressive labyrinth of links to buy tickets to a game.
It also just doesn't look very good. Hopefully that is temporary.
If anyone in this forum made the Phantoms official site, I apologize, but you didn't do a very good job - mcefalu
There's another site that's up to date.

I would look at it this way too. What good is it to bring any of prospects into this atmosphere that is going on. If by the TDL we move players and spots are open then I am ok at that time giving them some expereince because we are out of it and looking to get players ready for next season.
Everyone compains about the Flyers being patient and Hextall is doing that and now all of a sudden we want them up. |

If you say so but that third pairing of MDZ and schenn are an Achilles heal on already weak team, I need to see them eradicated from the lineup |

i now realize why hexxy is keeping the young guys away from this team and coach, i dont care what anyone says this team is assembled to fail and maybe on purpose, worst d ever and half the forwards are ahl players. |

Nobody wants all the prospects up, just a few that could conceivably help shore some weak spots and if not will at least learn on the job. |

Putting Ghost in either of those spots won't magically turn the team around. Since he won't drastically help the team, better for the organization to help him by letting him get acclimated to the pro game in the AHL. |

Shore up spots for what? If you bring up Ghost to play maybe 10 mintues on the third pair what does he get out of it. Yes he gets to fac e NHL skill but he won't see any PP or situations that he gets in the AHL that he uses his full range of talent for.
Bring up Manning then as he is an AHL vet now and young enough to maybe find out if he can handle the NHL. Othere then that no reason to bring up the kids. |

You'd have to worry about him more if Berube had the balls to put Simmer on G's wing. |
