"Regardless of what the Islanders do this season, a majority of this fan base will never be satisfied with Jack Capuano as their head coach. When the team is playing well and winning, the response is: “Our players are great.” When the team is losing, the response is: “Our coach should be fired.” I just want to look at the big picture. When the team is winning, everyone deserves praise and when they are failing, it is more than just the coaching staff; the players deserve blame as wel"
See this is where I find a problem. A coach has to adjust to injuries, opposing coaches changes to the line up, match ups, etc. Capuano doesn't do this well whether we are winning or not. The players adhere to Capuano's "system" or they get less ice time and plugs on the 4th line get more. The defense for the most part is a borderline mess whether we win or not. Look no further than the Ranger game for proof. You can't expect your goaltender to bail you out every night because your defensive system relies solely on them. Capuano is showing the same incompetent decision making he's shown since he started here. He's consistent with that. I agree firing him after 2 games would be silly and scream incompetence but why is here in the first place? - Cptmjl
The system is obviously a mess and granted I didn't watch the game at all but if some of the goals were due to defensemen missing poke checks, losing inside position, taking a bad angle to screen the goaltender, giving the forward too much room to skate into instead of stepping up and taking the body, not tying up sticks, etc. then that part is on the players and the coach.
I doubt Cappy's system is for them to run around their own zone like a chicken without a head. I'm sure on paper and in his mind he sees his system working. But between defensemen straight up losing 1 on 1 battles and him not going through video sessions in practice to specifically show situations where defensemen lost inside position or didn't tie up the opponent's stick or didn't use the boards to his advantage or gave too much room or didn't anticipate a pass correctly or didn't step up and take the body, etc. then it's a combination of both players and Cappy. |

Capuano sounded like Hamonic (who didn't practice) won't be ready, and Visnovsky will. He was unsure of Grabovski (either him or 36) #Isles - Vukota
what is the point with 36. To combat Lucic, now this makes no sense. |

I'm completely blown away that Grabovski is even a thought right now. Pretty awesome. I hope those symptoms don't creep back. He's one tough SOB if he's in against Dallas. What happened with Hamonic? He was OK to play last night but not the next game? - Cptmjl
He has been playing hurt so maybe its getting worse and he needs to sit a game? |

Lucic, McQuad they have some big guys and play a rough game. Boulton in the lineup for some reason makes the rest of the guys play with a little bit of an edge. We've seen it before so I say throw him in there. If Grabo comes back tomorrow and they bring Lee up I would sit Conacher in this one |

A lot of Boychuk's shots were missing the net because the opposition is keying on him.
The fourth line deserves high ice time in BRI. |

#Isles have placed Mikhail Grabovski on IR retro to 10/16. Now have roster spot for Visnovsky to come off IR tomorrow. |

I think it's safe to say that given free agency, the Boychuk/Leddy trades, and now the demotion of McDonald...maybe we can all relax a little and have some faith that the front office is, and has been since the end of last season, proactive about timely changes to the team. McDonald stunk..waived. Let's wait another game or two and see how things shake out re: Conacher and Capuano. If we lay up another shat-sandwich in Boston tomorrow and/or against Dallas...I would have to think that Cappy will be shown the door or demoted out of the head coaching position. |

Is Dee Karl working for Rotoworld now?
Isles waive veteran defenseman Colin McDonald
Colin McDonald has been placed on waivers by the New York Islanders.
McDonald has played in just two games this season. He might have gotten more playing time had the Islanders not acquired Johnny Boychuk and Nick Leddy before the start of the season.

Looks like all those people that picked up McDonald in their fantasy leagues wasted one of their limited weekly moves for nothing. - rangerdanger94
I'm surprised Rotoworld even wasted their time creating a news update for Colin McDonald. He can't be owned in more than like 1% of any league. |

C mAc is most certainly going to clear and will be great in Bridgeport. And if he picked up. Who cares. Well maybe the huge skille fans we have. Lol. |

Agreed. Snow is being very proactive with everything this season thus far. We all know it's inevitable. The real question is who is his replacement? |

Judging by the stupidity in that update it's clear they've assigned Colin McDonald updates to their worst intern. |

She has to be working for Rotoworld, who else would write something like that? |
