Why is this team's sssoooo ssslllloooowww to make adjustments? Anyone watching this team knows that Anders Lee is a far more suitable replacement for Grabovski than Colin McDonald, yet Snow/Cappy had to waste 2 games proving it. Why does Cappy wait until the 3rd period to make adjustments when the game was lost in the middle 10 minutes of the 2nd period? And, of course, there's still Brian Strait playing over Reinhart or Pulock, and, of course the smaht guy himself still as uncreative as ever with a new wrinkle of being less enthusiastic and more critical after a win than after a loss that gives us one more nonsensical trait to puzzle over.

Reinhart and Pulock are exactly where they should be

Yes, but is Strait where he should be?

I would much rather take my chances with giving younger players a shot over McDonalds and Straits who are just vestiges left over from when this team had no depth. Now they are just gumming up the works.

Would you rather have reinhart and pulock playing 20 minutes a game or more in all situations against the top offensive players in the AHL or about 13 sheltered minutes at even strength only against nhl 4th lines?

Now play him with JT and KO, and play Kulemin with Nelson and Strome, move Bailey back to the right wing and put Conacher on the third line with him and Nielson until Grabovski comes back. Clutterbuck goes back to the fourth line.

scratch conacher when Grabovski is back and ready to go and then put Kulemin back on the third line and Grabovski back with Nelson and Strome.

Fixed.

I would much rather see Reinhart playing in the NHL (over Strait) until the Isles have all six of Boychuk, Leddy, Hamonic, deHaan, Hickey and Visnovsky in the lineup.

Strait will I think is next to go is better than Donovan.

That's what worries me about dropping game this early in season.
Our coaching staff is going to unteach all the good habit these off season acquisitions had from REAL franchises.

I mean I have to think Boston, Chicago coaching staff alittle better than Mike Dunham, Marty Reasoner and Eric Cairns.

Halak no question was off last night. Johnson looked good in relief.

At the rate your blueline is piling up injuries you may never have all 6

All the more reason to have the best lineup on a nightly basis than to worry about passing marginal players through waivers or longterm player development. Reinhart didn't look out of place in the NHL. He's not quite up to speed but he's better than Strait right now.

No need to worry about longterm development? That worked out real well for Bailey...

Reinhart isn't ready and they don't have time to baby sit prospects

Last night was a clunker, no doubt. Total no-show in the second and plain flat in the third. But putting this in perspective, the team is still 4-2. They've played well for the vast majority of the games they played in until last night. They weren't going to win them all and we knew at some point a losing streak would hit. Lets see how they respond. Step one, calling up Lee and waiving McDonald was a good move. Step two should be waiving Strait and getting Vis in the lineup. Step three should be shaking up the fourth line. I haven't noticed a thing Matt Martin has done all year. Maybe its time he sits and plug Conacher onto that line with Cizikas and Clutterbuck and see if that wakes Martin up?

Agreed. Calling up Reinhart or Pulock is not the answer. The team needs to start playing defense. Period. Make the easy play in the defensive zone. Be positionaly sound and stand up opposing forwards at the blue line instead of letting them skate freely into our zone. Capuano has to start making sound decisions with our line up and we will be fine. Let Reinhart and Pulock learn for a season in the ahl. We have the talent and depth we just need someone to utilize it properly.

Yes, if only Josh Bailey had played another season in the OHL six years ago, he would've been the next Steve Yzerman by now.

Well that's the problem. They haven't done much. With that said clutter gets promoted to the second line and it seems pretty damn often I see Martin out there when he for the most part has been completely ineffective? None of this makes any sense and that's where the problem is.

I don't disagree, but why do they have to carry Strait AND Donovan instead? GR was better than Strait for at least 2 of the 3 games they played together.

No one is saying that but he could have been a frans nielsen or a adam henrique. But instead he, along with nino, were rushed and you now have 1 waste of a player in bailey on the team and nino on another team as a result. Two wasted top picks.

MDZ yes. But at least we moved him for a top 4 calibur defenseman in Klein.

McIlrath's development has been anything but rushed.

Nino wasn't rushed. He was stuck on a 4th line the first year because he wasn't eligible to play in the AHL. His friction with the team came when he.....wait, why am I explaining this to a rag fan??? Go back to Jan's blog. You guys have wasted so many picks, passed on higher ranked players and traded 1st picks for has-beens and players with personality problems. It's regarded as a bad omen to be drafted by the rangers—not because of how the team plays but more like a curse to the drafted player...bad things happen...

There wasn't much to develop from the get go. Slats passed on Fowler...biggest mistake.

We passed on fowler as well as a handfull of other teams. I was so pissed when we picked nino over him.

Nino had 1 point in 55 games and was relegated to the 4th line. If that's not the sign of a player who wasn't ready then I dont know what is. The lightning sent Drouin back to juniors even though he was ready for the AHL but not NHL and his development is going perfectly.

The friction was caused when the Islanders didnt invite him to camp after the lockout ended despite him having a successful campaign in the AHL. But why didnt they invite him? Because after wasting a full year of his development they wanted to take it slow this time around. The simple fact is that if nino was sent to juniors again then the chain reaction that caused him to request a trade never would've happened.

The rangers have had their fair share of 1st round busts but staal, kreider, miller, and even mdz wbo was able to get us a quality defenseman worked out. We are great at drafting in later rounds as evidenced by the success of dubi and anisimov who we flipped for nash, cally who we flipped for MSL, hagelin, stepan, Lundqvist, talbot, and prospects like duclair, buchnevich, and halverson. We're also great at bring in undrafted free agents like girardi and zuccarelo..
