Went to the McDavid showcase, and lordy let me tell you - The kid is the real deal, even more than highlights can show you. 9/10 times he touched the puck, he made an excellent move that lead to an A+ scoring chance. It was just utter domination whenever he stepped onto the ice. The hype clearly was not misplaced. 29 points (2.90 ppg) in his first 10 games... Not even Crosby had those numbers in juniors, he had 168 in 62 (2.71 ppg) in his best year. The kid is going to be an absolute machine wherever he goes, and IMO he'll be a perennial superstar.

Buffalo is one of the only American Cities to play the Canadian National Anthem. Threw me for a loop the first time i saw a game in another city in the US. I want to say Minnesota does it too, but it's been a while and I was drunk.....which is the custom in that part of the country.

Here's the thing though, it was shown as classy by Pittsburgh to do that today. How about recognizing the country before every game the same way the US is recognized? Considering how many of the players are actually Canadian, it shouldn't be considered odd. The fact that only a handful (if that) of 30 clubs plays both for every home game is kind of sad, IMO.

I knew we wouldn't make the playoffs but I also said that Nolan wouldn't let them tank or play bad, I'm very shocked at how bad this team is. We were better last season when they grabbed scrubs off the waiver wire.

I knew they were still going to be bad, but I didn't think it would be this bad. I thought they'd be a least a little bit better than last year. Yet somehow, they're worse.
