I have an idea to resolve the tensions.
We recognize this is just a rumour and won't happen.
And go back to watching eberle cherry pick and go missing for stretches,
and us habs fans keep the overated Pleks and team full of scrubs and continue to watch our team collect points in the standings. - Biggus Richardus

There's no trade to be made.
U guys don't wanna give up the assets that we'd want. Ur winning right now.
We don't want/need prospects or picks as value to even out a trade - hugefemale dog77
eberle may be available. but not likely to the habs
Habs need to acquire assets with prospects and picks so a rebuilding team is more likely (see Buffalo; chris stewart)
Oilers are in the middle of their turn around and need players that can play today and tomorrow. |

The problem is their assets will be "old" like Plek by the time they get it right. |

Yeah but i watch him play, and i guarantee you it will be the same in december and march. - soad_live
He will be a great player but Habs fans should calm down a little for this year. Doubtful he will be a point per year player this season.
Could be a breakout year for him but 65 points for him this season would not be bad. |

Oh my.....you clearly don't know what your talking about.
Kevin Lowe was promoted to President close to 6 or 7 years ago.
Steve Tambellini was fired very late in the 2012-13 season.
Can we please get some more educated trolls around here? We get enough of this low level trash talk from the Calgary fans. - Jeropotato

I really really really dont want Chris Stewart...guys brutal.
He is literally Rene Bourque except he hustles less...at least bourque tries and fails, stewart just fails |

I would also like to point out that size is still important. And Pacioretty is a bigger player and doesn't always, but when he is playing his best drives the net with his speed.
Size and salary are very important factors.
The edmonton oilers shouldn't trade Eberle anyways, but whenever your hand is forced to make a trade like this you never come out on top. These trades rarely are a one for one scenery change.
Look at trades from the last 5 years. Specifically significant ones. - Biggus Richardus

Not much on the market, really : http://www.capgeek.com/free-agents.
Maybe Jagr at the right price? |

Much rather give it to one of the Kids. Do not want to see spending on Chris Stewart...bring up Thomas, Andrighetto, or De la Rose - i bet he could play RW. |

don't know enough about him. heard the hype tho.
and its not like im not interested in tokarski either.
but not as the main piece in a deal for eberle.
tokarski is the sweetener after someone.
I dunno, juts not sure there's a deal to be made.
u don't wanna get rid of the pieces that are huge to u guys winning right now. we don't want/need the guys that u would be willing to move as they wouldn't change our fortunes much at present. and that would be the whole point in us making a move right now.
(the beaulieu's, tokarksis etc just aren't what we need.
even plekanec or eller. a guy that's gonna take draisaitl's place for now, but be on the 3rd by next year. and that's not even taking into account that neither of those guys alone make us better than we are with Jordan eberle most likely. and again; not willing to lose value in player coming in for the sake of prospect/pick value. - hugefemale dog77

I actually have thought that Sekac looked really good - got stoned on a few beauty opportunities.
I think give him some better linemates and he'd score around the 40 pt mark ish...hard to say though as i havent seen him on a strong line.

This is the best part. a few hundred comments of stupidity.
Market dictates value, and best trade offer usually wins.
Lets go back in time and see what Vanek would of got from habs, likely nobody would have guessed it would take only a prospect and a 2nd |
