Seems kinda strange that the Habs would want a smallish scoring winger. - Jeropotato

I'm not saying Eller, Beaulieu, Tinordi or Tokarski for Eberle is a good trade. All I'm saying is that I can not see any other players than them going the other way if the rumor is true.
Bergevin will keep Galchenyuk and Pacc.
And MacTavish won't trade Eberle for Eller, Tinordi, Beaulieu or Tokarski either! - CMPunkSES
He wouldn't trade him for all four! |

They definitely should trade RNH and Eberle to the Yankees for Derek Jeter and 10,000,000 in cash.
So sick of hearing about who the Oilers should trade. I wouldn't do a (frank)ing thing except sign veterans to flexible contracts, draft high, and let the kids naturally develop. I know it's hard to witness futility, year in year out, but it will pay off in the long run.
2003 was an awesome time to be a Flames fan, but that year was book ended by a whole wack of pain. Let go let god. |

Him and Derek Stepan look like they founded the Rock Chewing Club of the America's together. |

i find some of the offers from Habs fans hilarious.
they're offering scraps for a player that would arguably be their best forward. and before people go off about pacioretty......eberle is 2 years younger, has more points in fewer games, playing on a far worse team.

I saw people talking about swapping max pac for Eberle. Call me crazy, but does this trade pretty much accomplish nothing? A goal scorer for a goal scorer? I try to follow most teams but the seasons kinda early and maybe I'm out of the loop? - Dedshark
I second this, also both guys are signed for another 4 years. Except that Max has a bargain 4.5M contract while Eberle is at 6M. A goal scorer locked up to a 4.5M/year contract is probably the wet dream of all GMs. The way I see it, the only way Bergevin is trading Max to the Oilers is if their 2015 1rst round pick is coming back. That's how valuable that contract is (to a contending team that is). But I don't think that is realistic for many reasons (Oilers would want to keep it, Bergevin wants a shorter term reward).
Only other asset I assume are not tradable (at any price) are Galchenyuk and Price. Subban would be expensive but at least available I would think. |

I'm hearing Toronto is offering the same package Carolina turned down for Staal. Kadri, JVR, Gardiner, Reilly, Nylander, Bernier, Percy, Bozak and 2 first rounders. They may have to add more pieces for Eberle. - kayakerjack
I'm sure you did..thats the dumbest thing I've read on here in a long time..

If the biggest organizational need is a #2 centre maybe reuniting yak and galchenuk is the end game. It would definitely end the Yak trade rumours. I think he has a ridiculously high ceiling, I like the new bang and crash he seems to have added, he's learning the defensive side you can't teach that skill.
Not sure but I could see these 2as main pieces in a 6or 7 player deal. As salary needs to be evened out. Ebs @6 million vs Galchenyuk @925k

If Eberle and Scrivens/Fasth are going for Tokarski+, that + is Pacioretty or Galchenyuk - TheNugeIsHuge

I hope not, if they trade Plekanec they might as well join the McDavid race because they aren't getting far without him this year. - KovyFan27
Mtl is far more balanced team with Eberle instead of Plekanec.
Plekanec is exactly what Edmonton needs. I would trade Plekanec in a swap for Eberle but not for Yakupov. |

and I'm saying, in reply to the other guy, that you aren't adding value to MTL's side of the trade by swapping Tokarski and Fasth. EDM is losing more value and the only players (non-subban) that could make up that value and help EDM would be Galchenyuk or Pacioretty - TheNugeIsHuge
I think you are WAY over valuing him...What has he really done in the NHL yet? |

he's put up more pts in less games than pacioretty has...........all while playing on a significantly worse team.
so i ask you......what has pacioretty done in the NHL to be worth SOOO much more than eberle? what has galchenyuk done to be worth even close to eberle? |

Or, ... if you can't get the reasonable value for the asset, you still want to try and re-sign him, you keep trying to work it out with him until you have to let him go to Free agency, then you pick up a replacement player from the UFA market that has similar skills, is 4 - 5 years younger, and haven't lost anything. - InSutterWeTrust
..... They should have traded him. He is about the $$$ and nothing else. Everyone saw him leaving except Calgary. Oh well it was only a 3rd rounder they missed out on. |
