Murray didn't do much for the Kings. Kings players learnt most of there pro careers from Sutter not Murray. Your asking why change coaching now? When did I say fire Nolan now? All I said was instead of getting rid of these players that we already have why not get rid of Nolan. He's clearly not HC material. He is more of a guy that should be an assistant. This team is full of players that Nolan covets, yet he still can't get the job done. I can guarantee you we'd have a much better record if Ruff was coaching us. - Jammerz04
other than stew, staff, meszaros and benoit, who are ufa's, who are they trading away? |

Neither would I honestly.
It's like having Crosby and Tavares in the same draft.
I would like that player that immediately puts us back on the map in the NHL though. McDavid is that player. - sbroads24
They both are its just no one wants to admit it.
They are both players you build around.
Something this organization needs badly. |

Thats a negative ghost rider. Terry Murray taught the group how to play within a system. How to play 200ft of the ice. Held them accountable. And then got them into the playoffs two years in a row before Sutter took over the team halfway through a season. He was the Coach to push them to the next level. Let the offensive guys be more creative. |

He's not bashing Canada. However US prospects don't get the spotlight like Canadian players do.
Crosby and McDavid were hyped from the age of 15. If Eichel were Canadian it's possible he woulod have gotten similar hype - sbroads24
I'm not saying your point is invalid in general, I do believe Canada has a bigger hype-machine for hockey players at a younger age (and just all together). But in this case the reason Eichel hasn't been hyped for the last 3 years is mostly because he hasn't been nearly as strong as McDavid for that time-frame. In the last year however he has stepped into the picture a lot more as shown by both media hype and by his stats. For example look at the 2012-2013 U18s:
McDavid: 7GP - 8G - 6A - 14Pts
Eichel : 7GP - 1G - 1A - 2Pts
If Eichel was as dominant in that tournament as McDavid was you would've been hearing his name as well this whole time, regardless of whether he is American or Canadian. |

IMO college hockey isn't far behind Jrs in talent level. The yearly top college hockey programs could beat the top Jr teams on most nights.
Just my opinion |

What a hilarious way that would be to determine first draft pick.
Worst two records play against each other in a single game Playoff, with a shoot out?
Loser picks first? |

I think most admit they are close, but Eichel hasn't done anything to suggest he's better.
It's a perfect scenario for the last place team. However I think McDavid will be one of the best the moment he puts on an NHL sweater. |

I personally like the comparison of having Crosby and Kane in the same draft more. To adjust I'd rather say a comparison of having a lesser-Crosby and a greater-Kane (relative to their respective draft years). That's partially because you have a C and a W, but also because it's easier to compare Kane's and Eichel's USDP stats the year before their draft year (Eichel's are better). |

100% but it's also not too hard to see the individual one-on-one domination McDavid had against the competition that Eichel just didn't bring to the table. McDavid made the competition in that tournament look like a bunch of ECHLers where Eichel was not very noticeable at all.
I'm not trying to use those performances to justify today's evaluations just to explain the past media-hype that McDavid has received more-so than Eichel. |

Just going on what I was told but what was said to me is Strome looked more the NHL ready size than McDavid. Thought McDavid may get pushed around unless he puts on some weight.
They are the same weight according to their profiles. My only thought/guess as to why he might have thought that is, Strome has been training with big brother for the last few years.
Again just going on what I was told by a guy that has played and coached the last 35yrs. |
