True. Don't know much about him but he's highly rated for sure. |

Normally I completely agree. But this draft is loaded with centers. Hard to go away from that if you're drafting top 10, unless you can get Hanifan. - TheGreat28
That's true. I'll be curious to see what the rankings are in a few months. |

Plus with all of the young D talent, I'd like them to bring in a highly-skilled offensive prospect who could be with the team in 2 years. |

Who the hell cleared Coburn, and why did it come out today that he'll miss a month?
I swear to God, in a month, we really will find out that he's been dead for the last 5 weeks, they just didn't notice. |

Reading the Twitter universe I get the feeling Hexy is looking to get a D man via trade or sign someone rather then call up a player. - Marc D

It kind of ticks me off though that they have us picking the big power forward a dozen spots higher than his ISS rankings just because it's the Flyers so they have to always pick the big physical guy.
Might tick me off more because it's probably true |

We took Sanheim over Tuch, so I think Hextall will take the best player |

I think Ghost should be called up. Not for any other reasons besides it being near Halloween. - NickTheKid87
Great news, Seravalli reporting that Alt gets his chance!
http://www.philly.com/phi...nald-out-for-a-month.html
"Phantoms defenseman Mark Alt had his nameplate fixed atop a stall in the Flyers' locker room on Friday, but GM Ron Hextall said he had not made any decisions yet. It sounded as if Hextall was more keen on Friday on signing a defenseman or trading for one, rather than making a call-up." |

Meh, make the call up. There really isn't that much pressure on these kids at this point. Everyone knows the deal. |

And in fairness to Holmgren, they did a better job over the last couple of years. Head scratchers like Goulbourne were at least offset by out-of-type picks like Ghost. |

I had the same thought.
"Well the Flyers like big dudes on skates so they'll go with Bittner regardless of what he does this year"
Can't say I really blame their logic either |

Exactly how I feel.. Hell, I would even be interested in bringing Sanheim back for a 10 game trial.. |

Pretty glad that Alt is finally getting his chance. I consider him one of our core future defenders. |

Kind of off topic question for Bill.
What is your feeling of Hextall and his relationship with Berube? If Flyers don't make playoffs and Babcock makes it to the offseason do you think Hextall would try to bring him in? I have no clue but just curious. For some reason I thoought about this when I saw Joe Maddon opted out of the Rays. Curious who goes after him.
thanks Bill |

First order of business is to find a medical staff that can read an x-ray. I've never seen a sports franchise with incompetent medical personnel. |

Well, it's impossible to start with. Nut if anyone of our junior players got the call-up, it would be Morin (were his jaw not broken). But I think Manning and Lauridsen would be the 2 next-best choices. |

Turns out so is Derek Morris, which I did not realize. I assumed he wasn't signed because he's so old, but he's only 36. I guess he has had some injury issues though in recent seasons |
