Nobody is trading such players when they have them, unfortunately.
If Flyers hadn't been so cap-constrained, they no doubt would have interest in Boychuk and Leddy when the Bruins and Blackhawks were forced to trade those players. - bmeltzer
Boychuk sure would have been nice! |

What do you think happened with Coburn? Did he break his foot while rehabbing? Or was the initial diagnosis wrong? You work in the medical field, you would know better than I would. - PLindbergh31
It could be a number of things..
Sometimes something as seamless as a normal ankle sprain (2 weeks) turns into a high ankle sprain (6+ weeks).. A bone bruise which was negative on x-rays for a fx (which is very common) presents itself as a true fracture a few weeks later.
I cant speak for the current situation, however, I can tell you that McCrossin has absolutely nothing to do with that. |

Your probably right. We're in a serious position of weakness. - dmleip
The way I see it, you can really only look to the teams who are pretty much guaranteed to tank this year: Buffalo, Carolina, maybe Florida, since they're the ones most likely to sell, right? As poor as Edmonton has been so far, I think they're going to turn it around.
So that's really only Buffalo and Carolina. The only guys you might be able to get from Carolina are Liles, Hainsey, Sekera, Harrison and Gleason. Only guy I'd really be interested in is Sekera.
As for Buffalo, the only guy who I might be interested in who is available is Tyler Myers.
Not sure what it would cost to land either of them, but I'm not entirely sure it would be worthwhile |

We should trade for Kindl
- PhillySportsGuy
All kidding aside, he'd be a pretty decent add. 6'3, 220, mobile, puck skills. He'd probably step in and be their 2nd/3rd best dman right now, lol.
(hell, Grossmann/Schultz/Schenn wish they could flip a puck like that) |

I felt really bad for Modry. He was playing with a heavy heart with his grandfather on his mind every game but...man, he just wasn't good at all. - jmatchett383
But in true flyers fan fashion, some people kept defending Modry as not being at fault for any of the goals he was on the ice for. That he was a better defenseman than his stats indicated. It is only years later that everyone can agree that he sucked. |

Fair enough. It seems like this happens repeatedly with the Flyers. I certainly think it's fair to question their medical staff. |

Lecavalier skated today. Which means in Flyers Universe he'll be back in December. |

Flyers acquired him a few years too late, unfortunately. Ditto Kubina (whose legs were gone and who had a shoulder injury even before he got here). |

That's a common problem when acquiring older players. Fans and GMs that remember what players used to be able to do, not what they are able to do going forward. |

Most fanbases have a segment who hate most (or all) of their defensemen; seeing only the flaws and not the assets or at least a balance. Former first round picks get judged especially harshly. |

HIM NO FIGHT! HIM USELESS! - jmatchett383
hey you said it not me.
im fresh off an argument the other day with someone in a bar that the flyers have been bad ever since they let carcillo go, and the fellow was of the mind that it wasnt too much of a coincidence....
but. serious question. i know how you feel the pens should trade malkin. i disagree, but i understand that framework is not without a logical foundation.
that being said. if you could acquire malkin for nothing, would you? the only condition is you cannot immediately turn and hawk him for assets. (i think thats a fairly obvious precursor, but you never know) and 2. what would you do from a flyers perspective then with your roster? because then wouldnt they be in close to the same boat the pens are in currently to you?
i have ten minutes before i shuffle off to the gym. they have been devoted to you. do not let me down. |
