Buccigross tweeted Flyers are talking to a veteran UFA. Not much out there that interests me , off top of my head. Maybe Morris or Coliacovo - Jsaquella
Colaiacovo could provide some entertainment, at least until he gets hurt.

That (frank)ing hard to give the prospects their time to develop and stay away from this poop fire. Just couldn't resist. Can't stomach losing a few games for a long term view. Absolute horsepoop. - flyer_nutter
No need to panic. I know there is a concern with rushing a player into the NHL, but it's not something to completely avoid in order to try and protect every prospect from being overwhelmed. Some kids are mature and talented enough to handle it, some aren't. While it wasn't the plan, the Flyers now have an urgent need for D. Ghost has a couple of things going for him in being called up. Hes 21.5 yrs old, so not exactly a kid. He's coming off of leading his College team to greatness. He's handled himself relatively well in his games thus far as a pro.
Ask Ghost if he'd rather stay with the Phantoms because he thinks it will hurt his development to play in some NHL games. What do you think he'd say?
They just need to be careful and not put too much weight on his shoulders and put him in a position to succeed. Hopefully Berube doesn't "Akeson" him to the third pairing getting 7 minutes playing with a stiff and no PP time (nor should he give him too many minutes). If he does well and shows he's ready, maybe he sticks. If not, he can always go back down when the need for D help isn't so urgent.
If and when he (or any good prospect) sticks, I think a key thing is that they (and we) manage expectations and not put too much pressure on him to perform this early in his pro career. If it happens right from the jump, great, but if it doesn't, he should be given some slack to make those rookie mistakes and hit those bumps in the road and hopefully learning from them. He'll probably look great some games and not so great for stretches too. It may take a 2-3+ years before he develops enough to close up some leaks in his game and play good hockey on a consistent basis (we hope). I think as long as the mistakes made along the way aren't perceived as permanent flaws that are over-criticized and the patience is there to work through those deficiencies, a young player can certainly learn on the job in the NHL. The Flyers have had mixed results in promoting younger players to the big club so I understand the concern. Again, some players are ready to handle it, some aren't. As of now, I have confidence in Hextall and Homer (yes Homer) and the team to be able to tell if he's handling it well enough to stay up or not. I hope Berube doesn't screw up his part. |

thats awesome. thats living to me. i imagine it might get annoying during the summer, but just being by water is something that cant be beat.
dont need all the wildwood fanfare or anything like that. just a sleepy little house near the water. for someone that cant swim particularly well, theres just something inexplicable about the water. |

I love being near water. Summer is busy, but my friends and family are down visiting every weekend, so I enjoy it. Best time is September. Weather is still good, water is warm and the island is pretty quiet. |

I'm one of those people that will go to the beach and stay in the water for hours at a time bodysurfing with my brother and dad. We ride them in farther and boogie boarders and people always ask us how we do it
Love the water. It's calming. The bodysurfing, people watching, Richarding around, and floating are one thing, but like you said- something inexplicable at the end of the day. |

Hey. It's not for everyone. I'm also one of those people that sits with Pink Floyd in my ears and watches the surf instead of reading, amongst all the beachy chaos around me. |

My old stomping grounds. Does the Ventnor Motel still exist? Sack o' Subs? Dino's? Lot of fond memories of that area as a kid. |
