Grossman, if healthy, gets you a second at the deadline. GMs LOVE having huge, tough as nails, physical Dmen for playoff runs. As part of a good D group, Grossmann can be a very valuable player who can play a lot of mins on the PK, which helps your skilled Dmen out as well.

L Schenn has 3 things going for him: He's 25 and healthy, right handed and big. Worst case, he'd get you a 3rd, but even if you have to throw in a 4th to make it happen, I still think he can get you a 2nd

Really, at this point, it doesn't hurt to have Manning and Alt up here now, in late October and November. They are probably ready for, at least a look at 3rd pairing minutes at the NHL level. Especially Manning who played a regular shift down the stretch in 2013.
