Red Wings really sealing off the boards. They know with MacDonald out, that the Flyers are lacking puck skills on the back end, and are up and challenging the Flyers breakouts. Causing the Flyers a lot of trouble. |

It's not like Kessel dishes JvR the puck. Each player puts the puck in the net themself. - SuperSchennBros
Except for the fact that not every goal is scored on a breakaway.
Each player does things better than the other, for me I take Simmonds over JVR as I find his leadership and willingness to compete or be physical is something the team needs vs what JVR brings.
Statistically speaking they are similar players with the only clear difference being in PIMs. |

They need to just fire the puck at the net more. They aren't going to be possessing the puck for long periods of time in the offensive zone. |

They play on the same line. I'm pretty sure that they are involved in each other's goals a high percentage of the time. Bottom line is that Simmonds doesn't play with a player the caliber of Kessel at ES, yet he still is pretty close in ES points.

Your first sentence is just nonsense. The rest of your post is just down playing one player while giving the other zero credit. |

No it really wasn't. To be honest if anything is called nonsense, it's the statement "It's not like Kessel dishes JvR the puck". |

Just like your implication that Kessel doesn't contribute to what JVR does is nonsense?
Agreed.. Clearly where I said each player does things better than the other is giving JVR 0 credit. |

So Lecavalier isn't a good player? Brayden Schenn hasn't has moments of being a good player? You name Kessel but Tyler Bozak isn't exactly carrying them to the playoffs. Kessel isn't on the ice killing penalties with JvR. |

I never said Kessel doesn't contribute to what JvR does. They play on a line together.
I've already compared the two players in detail. You've said next to nothing that suggests a good point. You might want to back read. |

"It's not like Kessel dishes JvR the puck. Both players put the puck in the net themself." Pretty sure that says Kessel doesnt dish JVR the puck.

Every post I have made on this I have said that I personally find Simmonds to be more valuable to the Flyers then JVR would so why is that any less valid then what you are saying which is JVR is more useful then Simmonds? |

I know what I said, I typed it!
It's well known that playmakers such as Crosby, Getzlaf, Thornton, Datsyuk and oh yeah, Claude Giroux make a living off giving out goals. Phil Kessel doesn't do this. He's a shooter.
Now explain how Simmonds is more valuable then JvR. JvR is an all situations player for his team. As long as we're repeating each other, you made a case that Simmonds' leadership, competitiveness and grit is more valuable then a guy who is on the top lone for his team, number PP, Kills penalties and didn't miss in the shootout last season. So without discounting with what Simmonds brings, which I've clearly recognized, clear up your argument. |
