Boston has all their eggs in the Chara basket. The Rangers have all their eggs in the Lundqvist basket. Acquiring Pronger was a fantastic move, and I'd be in favor of making it every time.

Imo, merely having a young star player on your team is not putting "all their eggs" in one basket. Giving up a ton of assets to acquire a star player is putting "all their eggs" in one basket. When that player is over 35+ and put under contract until their 42 that is putting all your eggs in a short term, high risk, basket.

Lundqvist didn't handicap team depth and neither did Chara, Pronger did in a big way.

Yeah true. When was the last time a Flyer has finished a check. I see nothing but stick checks and press-against-the-wall type of checks. People need to make some checks and finish plays. Detroit is so sound positionally in the neutral zone and getting back.

You know what. It's great Raffl drew a penalty there but to me this top line is a disappointment. Raffl isn't a top line guy and has very little impact there.
