Solid game by Raffl and Emery. Schultz is impressing I have to say, and a nice surprise.
Jason Akeson: 3 minutes and 35 seconds of total ice time lowest among forwards
Ghost: 12 minutes and 27 seconds total ice time. 6 minutes less than the next d-man, Grossmann.
But hey! We won!

Gotta say the Nick Schultz signing was a nice little coup by Hexy, can't ask for anything more from a 7th dman coming into the season. - ravishingone

Good point. I really wish that Akeson had played 18 minutes, Gostisbehere had played 22 minutes, and the FLyers lost the game.

Maybe Berube was right last season when he thought Raffl could score in this league. He does the dirty work Hartnell used to do with a little more speed on the forecheck and a little less dumb with the minor penalties. |

Those boys just might be more dangerous than we all think - AllInForFlyers
The Flyers got trapped in their own end a lot but I thought they did a pretty good job of keeping all of the shots to the outside. There wasn't a lot of moments where the Wings felt dangerous.
Overall I was pretty impressed by this patchworks defense. |

3 minutes and chum change for Akeson is laughable.
Nice to see Ghost developing by sitting on the bench. Enjoy your "win". |

Hanging on. Shots attempted were 74-42. Continuing to win games that way isn't very probable.

seems like the more their back against the wall the more they show. just disappointing that when they are expected to do well or take a lead the level of play goes down |

12 minutes of NHL time beats 20 minutes of AHL time. And I'm very upset that the Flyers won. I can't enjoy it because Akeson only played 3 minutes and change.

I agree but the numbers are a little misleading. Most of the Wings shots were easy low percentage shots. |

It's the kids first NHL game, I don't think there is anything wrong with the way he was played. |

I agree, that they didn't have a ton of quality shots. But the problem is that when they have the puck that much, well you obviously don't have it that much.

Good to see them battling even when they're outplayed/outmatched. A win is a win. I absolutely would have liked to see Ghost get more ice time though. |

Game situations. Flyers were playing with the lead for most of the 3rd period. If it's a tie game, or the Flyers were behind late. Gositisbehere's icetime will elevate. |
