I don't suspect Uncle Lou is under any pressure to move Larsson... much less to the Flyers. With all their kids, they can afford just to let him develop slowly, and sign him to a really reasonable 3rd-contract after this year. He's 21... that's baby age for a dman. - Tomahawk
hey i'm not saying it's ever going to happen but people keep bringing it up i'm just saying what i'd look for a minimum if we move schenn |

Oh, and if we want Yandle the discussion starts with Coots. |

That blog's funny -- Coburn and MacDonald are injured, not retired. I'm not saying the Flyers won't ever trade Schenn or Couturier, but it won't be so they can adjust to the loss of those two guys for a month.

I really don't think B. Schenn is on the trade block at all. The organization has gone through his growing pains, signed him to a very manageable bridge deal which allows to see what he develops into as a player.
I've always liked Coots, so like you I'm laughing at that trade scenario.

I think Murphy for Schenn could be massaged into something. The Flyers would need more, but Murphy is a good young defenseman, who has the potential to be similar to Marc Staal, IMO.
Trouble is, he's not there yet. They have kids with potential. They need guys who are more proven-or who have higher upsides- if they're dealing Schenn |

Yup, that's what I'm thinking. Murphy is nice. But he is definitely not proven and his ceiling isn't high enough.
I'm starting to think if we do move BSchenn it might be a lot easier to find a trade involving a pure winger coming back to us. |

Oh, definitely. Teams are usually more willing to deal a winger than a defenseman, and generally will accept less. |

id hope so. the market for decent cost controlled young wingers already showing some reliability is pretty bare right now too unfortunately |

I still think Perron/BSchenn would be a good deal both ways. Leon Draisaitl is quickly filling that role for EDM tho.
I'm keeping my eye on the Canes as well. Talented forward roster but overall a bad team for far too long. New GM in place too.
It's way out there but Tlusty would be a guy I'd keep an eye on. Skinner too if the pieces make sense. |

They won't trade Skinnner and he's a concussion away from being done |

i have my eyes on him as well. nice, under the radar guy i think could thrive if he got time with a giroux or malkin. still young too. |

I suppose I don't understand why we can never be satisfied with what we have, we've gotta trade it away for something we think might be better. So when this talent we do trade away goes on to win a Cup or score against us, it's the acting General Manager's fault at the time. |

I'm fine with waiting on our D prospects for the most part. I strongly believe they need to add another LW though. Even if they keep Schenn as a LW in the top six whoever we're putting in the second LW role really won't be cutting it. |

Honestly, if it costs more than say a Cousins I'm not doing it. Not because Larsson isn't worth it. But let's call it the JVR affect. If we traded Schenn or Laughton you know they would really blossom on the Devil's and we'd regret the trade for the next 15 years. - TheGreat28

Any Flyers-Devils deal is interesting. I think last one was Chico Resch, when the current GM was a rookie - Jsaquella
i never like any kind of deal with our rivals. even if the guy comes over as a free agent like turner stevenson. |

Already have Hextall's kid, and Lukko's kid... might as well get Gord Murphy's kid, too.
All kidding aside, he's a pretty good prospect. Not a lot of offensive upside, but the defensive upside is tremendous. And he's RH! |

I would reply that if they want Couts that deal starts with OEL.
so I guess we are not trading with Phoenix in that regard.
i wonder about a BSchenn for Stone or Stone plus another assest. I have only watched him a few times but looked he good.
Is that more realistic? |
