They will be a scary team when healthy. - Feds91Stammer

Of those three only Alt has a chance to be more than a 6th or 7th guy at the NHL level.
I'm guessing they decided to give Ghost a shot to appease the fanbase and to get a glimpse of what he can do at the NHL level. - Jsaquella
I don't mind it -- see where they are in live games, send them back so they can work on things |

Why wasn't Raffle one of the three stars of the game? Or Emery?
I'm not overly impressed with public comments by Hexy. Tell the kid he earned it but it's short term. Tell the media he is temporary as you figure something out but has earned it with his smart/hard play. No need to elaborate on watching him like a hawk or telling him to keep it simple to the media IMHO. Not a huge deal but I guess overall I just don't see why if you don't trust the kid you don't bring up Manning instead. And why allude to the media that you don't trust the kid- I don't see how that helps. I hope they bring up Manning moving forward.
Really bummed to hear about Alts injury. Love to hear Pitbull is sticking up for his teammates at his size. Beast. |

Not about not trusting the kid. It's about making sure the situation doesn't become detrimental for the kid.

Had three shifts in the third period. Ghostisbehere was told ahead of time that he'd be spotted during the game and not to try to do too much. - bmeltzer
Seems like the best way to handle the kid.
If your going to cut his balls off and "watch him like a hawk". Why not just call up manning?
It looked like he had lanes out there at times where he could use his legs, flyers have to accept that there will be mistakes and it doesn't seem like their willing to give him any rope |

Two points is two points, but that was one of the ugliest 4-2 wins I've ever seen. Absolutely Leafs'ing it. |

No question. Flyers got away with a few penalties in that last 5 or so minutes.

With the market for defense man apparently high would you look to move a schenn or grossman if you can find a team that might overpay despite the flyers being short handed on the back end? - rinaldo
I'd trade streit and McDonald( if he was healthy) if in fact that is the going rate...just to get out of those contracts...being competitive now is great but I would like to hexy have a bunch of cap space and picks to play with. |

Amac and striit are conducive to the team's success, better off unloading schenn. Those two contracts hefty but you're getting SOMETHING out of them, with schenn his value drops every game. |

How about the Flyers just settle for Mark Howe and Håkan Andersson? In fact, maybe Howie can play defense for this team. Maybe he doesn't skate like he used to (he is 59 years old after all, with a bad back and knees) but, as he showed at the Alumni Game at the Winter Classic, he still has the hands, ice vision and ability to make plays that even many NHL D-men can't make . |

Good to hear about Hextall's view of ghost being here day to day. - flyer_nutter
Sorry I couldnt respond the other night. I was on a 6am flight to the Peg Thursday AM and a 7:50 Am flight back here Saturday Am. I literally flew home to Philly yesterday and drove straight to the Royals game. They couldnt open the baggage hold so my clothes are due today- the very small commuter jet could not accomodate the carry on. We stayed at the Delta and the factory we rep (EH Price) is a big campus on Raleigh St. They have a suite there for entertaining customers etc.
I have to say that the Royals are benefitting greatly from the guys assigned by the Flyers and some guys who will end up in the AHL ( getting 5 games for playoff eligibility) Nothing like size and toughness with skill to put thug teams back on their heels. When people try to run your players or intimidate and you have bigger tougher players who can finish it is like having a nuclear deterrent force. Tonight is the 3rd in 3 games with the Elmira Jackals and hoping for a sweep
Nice job by the boys in Philly last night, will watch the highlights after we catch last nights Dr Who season finale

Not at this point of the season. Wouldn't trade Streit regardless because he is now in the leadership role that Timonen played. However, if the Flyers are out of the race near the trade deadline, I would see if a team would overpay for Grossmann.

At the advertised rates...amac gets us a high 1st and a top 6 forward + and streit brings back at least a top prospect plus a ton of cap space and future room to pay good players... |

another morning in drunken paradise, what did I miss last night?
Seems like Flyers won, Ghost should play more, Raffl is really Pavel Bure, Grossmann scored, B Schenn is actually not useless, Berube hates Akeson, and Hagg and Laughton should be brought up asap.
That it? |

That penalty shot goal was a beauty. The only thing missing from that game was a shift from him and the Beast |

Flyers might have won, experts still can't agree, Ghost should play more, raffl is ok, grossmann scored, B Schenn is not [/img] totally useless, berube hates akeson and ghost, Laughton and hagg being in AHL is a conspiracy |

Well that's the asking price...nobody's paying it right now, though.
I'd wait, but if they are out of the picture at the TDL, I'd consider trading some of the defensemen. The trouble is, next season the kids might still might not be ready. Then you're likely paying more to replace a guy like Streit or MacDonald than you would be paying them. |

Yep. They won. Ugly, but a win is a win. Gostisbehere played OK, Hextall has made it obvious he wants Ghost in the AHL awhile longer and is going to be beating the phones to land a solid veteran, rather than even coming close to rushing the kids.
