Hope he takes it as a kick in the ass and works hard to improve (skating..).

What is the deal with McNally? He suspended from Hockey because of that incident last year or what's up?

Hope Subban has a late growth spurt.

Damn Cassels is racking up the assits.

and McCann is bouncing back well from mono.

We really need to draft a sniper/finisher and top 2 dman. If it was only that easy eh.

Virtanen isn't a sniper/finisher? That's pretty much what he's known for

Yep, and Shinkaruk and Jensen aren't exactly your prototypical 2-way grinders
Most of all WRT forward prospects we need an eventual replacement for Henrik. Nobody really with 1C upside, though elite level wingers and two 1B/2A type centers could be a possible solution. Still, hopefully if we are out of the playoffs we are picking top 10 and can grab one of the dynamic centers available in this draft, or a high end D-man

Put him in the lineup.
#cupbound

Whether those results continue when he's with the big club remains to be seen, but hoping so for sure. And it would be nice to have more than one in the system. Jensen still has a shot to be a top 6 player.

When looking at Cassels, McCann and Horvat, do you see 2nd/3rd line centres?

I guess it might be better to miss the playoffs and be in a better spot to draft a potential #1 C

Whether we are in the playoff race or not, I think we should sell at tdl if it means picks or prospects coming back. Definitely no rentals.

I have hope of McCann being a 2LC and Cassels as a 3 Rd line winger

Hansen needs a change. I like him but change would do him well. He seems to be having trouble finding an identity in this system. His penalty killing is still good right now thats about it.
- thundachunk

I agree with you. It's kind of surprising. In theory, Hansen should thrive in Willie's uptempo system, he's one of the few players with the wheels to pull it off, but so far he has looked a little lost.

Colorado sure didn't look like world beaters against the powerhouse that is the Jets.

Pretty sure that Schroeder was Toews and Kane rolled into one. Too bad we ruined him.

If they keep drafting good young two way centers eventually something will stick. Prerequisite is they've gotta have good wheels, unlike Hodgson.

No doubt. Was that the same draft that they took all of the overagers?

I also think Patty Kane is better than Kessel, but that puts me in the minority on the Leafs thread.

So he's just too low in the pecking order? Hmmmm, I thought he was our best prospect in the pre-season, Totally thought he'd be in the A
- vancity787

I guess thats how our coaches, scouts and management assed him I guess...

Maybe they plan to move some of the older prospects out in trades to make room for the new generation at some point. I didnt think he was going to be in the E thats for sure.

That roper guy would pretty much argue Kessel is better than any other player, past or present, on the planet.

McNally returned last season and was not at the same level at all.

If Benning doesn't do something about our defense, it won't matter about our forwards. This could be a long losing streak if we have to rely on Bieksa, Edler, Sbisa and Weber to defend for us at this point.

In the AHL you earn your spot like anywhere else. If he wasn't good enough to beat out other players then he gets sent down. Unlike the NHL where you may have a player under performing but he's on a one way deal for some good cash.

The same crowd that was calling Phaneuf a top 10 D-man at this point last year, although none of them would own up to it.
