In the AHL you earn your spot like anywhere else. If he wasn't good enough to beat out other players then he gets sent down. Unlike the NHL where you may have a player under performing but he's on a one way deal for some good cash. - LeftCoaster
I have no idea how he looked down in Utica's training camp. None what so ever. He opened some eyes here so I thought he'd make the Comets. I was surprised how fast he was sent to Kalamazoo. He was off to a good start on the Wings last I heard.

McNally returned last season and was not at the same level at all. - boonerbuck
Yep, zero progress on his end.
Hutton in my opinion is the only real potential gem we have and yet for him to improve upon last season's totals will be difficult. |

Nice awareness by Bieksa there, which results in another odd man rush
That Weber Sbisa pairing is a nightmare |

Harder than you might think learning to be effective with less ice time. |

It'll get worse in the third when the Caps get really tired on B2B nights. |

Pretty scary when they are on the ice. |

You just need a couple of shifts where Ovie-Backstrom are out there against Sbisa-Weber and you're set. |

That's a good point, though id argue he has, for the most part been effective in a top six/PP role.
If WD wants to round him out it makes sense but then again he said just the other day that he wants Vey to focus on offense |

Kassian is looking calm and strong with the puck tonight. |

That was a pretty brutal period. All the Caps could hope to do were limit the Canucks chances. |

For such a big boy Sbisa sure hits the ice pretty often, granted the ensuing chaos does allow the forwards to get back and grab the puck out from under him |

Because he's skating his lane and being strong positionally. |

I guess, I still see him passing opportunities to forecheck hard. I see guys like Dorsett, Higgins, Burrows doing it while still being decent defensively... |
