Agreed. Except my issue is with the @#%@#$ 80343 Sportsnet Channels which they keep revolving their broadcasts on. Last year, TSN double header - easy peasy -either channel 23 (on my cable) or channel 147 (again, on my cable). This year, takes longer to find the channel than the actual game

Now, there is, as you pointed out, channel 302, 326, 224, 159 156, 54, 22 and 13 to name a few. Just keep it to two @#$@# channels for @#$ sakes.

P.S. and yes, I'm aware there are out-of-region channels as well as HD channels, but that still leaves too many for this region

I almost recorded the Punjabi Canucks broadcast once...

Anyway, why have all those regional restrictions and blackouts, hope it isn't the same in the states or you can see why hockey isn't catching on.

Sportsnet is just terrible for the most part, they must really be having $ issues or something because they got rid of just about everyone from out here with any 'seniority' and I am guessing they got the cheap, inexperienced, zero insight youth to hold the mics and say silly/trendy things.

Cybalski is unbearable with the girl he is always on there with. Can't believe they have a morning show or something, I guess I shouldn't comment on something I haven't watched, but I found them unwatchable in the evenings and can't imagine the target demographic if they have a morning show.

Which one? Isaiah Mustafa or Terry Crews?

Both, but prefer Crews.

This.

Edit: they got rid of all the best people and yet kept the idiots like Healy, Cybulski, Stock, as well as these very uninteresting 3 person panels. I was really looking forward to a much much better product. Christ, it makes you miss Taylor and Valk (who I actually liked)

I think its a small price to pay to have 3 or 4 games a night to choose from.

You may be right.

It was just routine for me to record Sportsnet and Hockey Central and it has left a little hole in my evening when the wife goes to bed early and I'd stay up and watch what happened everywhere else.

Change is good, watching more hockey and less talking heads.

Canuck Army is getting better and better too.

Well, we the customers are paying for their services (I know that Sportsnet 1/ Sportsnet Vancouver are not on the main cable package and you have to pay extra - ok, not a lot but it's the principle of the thing. Namely, if they put together a good package with quality broadcasters I would have no problem paying even more.

On a separate note, I love Shorty, but I just don't think his voice cuts it as a play by play guy. Again, I think he's a very knowledgable and intelligent lad but I've just never been able to appreciate his voice (his play by play and interaction with Garret are top form, though). Anyone else feel this way?

Some of the food shtick gets old. Shorty is better than Paul Romanuk at least. Do you remember when they had Joey Kenward doing some play by play, it might have been just radio, but it was awful.

Shorty sounds like a little guy, bit geeky or nerdy but I am okay with that. We could have worse. Maybe we need someone from Toronto to come out and show us how it is done.

I don't know what exact cable package I have, but I think I get, Sportsnet, Sportsnet1, Sportsnet Vancouver and Sportsnet 360. Pretty much every channel has a game on every night. The selection is awesome. Saturday night has games on all those channels plus CBC and I think FX. I love that I can watch a 4:00 game on Saturday and not have to suffer through a Leafs game.

I do miss Sportsnet Pacific Connected because it focused most of the stories on the local sports teams but like I said, I will sacrifice that for 4 times more games being broadcasted.

Where is that prayer icon

I don't mind Romanuk but definitely prefer Shorty (even though I feel Romanuk beats out some of the other dead weight - ie. Mark Lee (and hopefully Drew Remada(sp) shortly.

I don't quite remember Joey Kenward but I know we've had our share of poor broadcasters......ahhh, I miss the dulcet tones of Jim Robson *sigh*

One thing I definitely agree with you on, is that Saturdays have been excellent, with several great choices (no more Toronto vs _____ games!). Perhaps I'm spoiled due to the great panels that TSN had (Duthie, McKenzie, Lebrun, and a guest host) as well as, as you pointed out, Sportsnet Connected. In any event, I'll shut my snout, given it's still early in the season and I'm sure the Sportsnet heads are ironing out the glitches.

Just an aside, but I find I'm watching a lot more games on the computer - there are some very good feeds for games that are not on any of the Sportsnet, CBC, or TSN Channels*

Anyone interested in Cam Ward? He hasn't done well for me so far. (frank), neither have Bernier or Backstrom. I'm willing to trade two starting goalies for one. He better be twice as good as them though.

I'm sure you have players that could fetch a decent goalie...

Ward for Ovechkin?

I'l consider it. Ovie looked bad last night so I may do it. Ward was an Olympic goalie as you said.
