Flyers will have to keep trying to come hard at them, even if it comes with risks.
I don't enjoy the idea of starting to trap it up like they did against the Pens. Against, LA who is looking scary when they get established in the Flyers zone... Playing with fire.
Play to your strengths. - flyer_nutter
It wasn't really a trap. And it was a strong adjustment that Berube made on the forecheck.

They've been a pretty subpar possession team so far this season... part injuries, party hangover methinks. - Tomahawk

Second best team in the west right now, third best overall. |

Everyone always has a solid first period when asking you. - flyer_nutter
It's about what actually happened on the ice. Versus not knowing what actually happened, and suggesting a player that you likely haven't even seen play, to come up and take a players place.

It's a Leafs blog, poking fun at the era when the Leafs were owned by the Toronto Teacher's Pension Plan |

Bill Burr said it right. Philadelphia had the perfect sports hero in Joe Frazier but chose instead to worship the fictitious 3 foot imaginary Italian. |

I have to agree with you, Umberger really has not done much. IF he can't produce offensively I want to see him skate and work hard like PEB. |

do you see where i have difficulty though? maybe its just me. but its too hard if someone said well who is a better player? giroux, or (insert whoever you think is the top defenseman or two in the game).
but out of just forwards? hmm. unfair or not, i always end up forgetting about datsyuk because of his age. i guess the way i preface it in my mind is if you were picking a team today who do you go with, and because of that, datysuk probably unfairly gets left out by me.
but its always the same group of guys that get chucked out. Crosby, stamkos, malkin, tavares (i may be high on him, but he would be my second selection behind crosby. dude is unreal).
then you have the group with guys like getzlaf, giroux, toews, and the criminally underrated kopitar. guys can slide up and down this list to me on personal preference and what people respectively value. doesnt seem to necessarily be a wrong answer per se. but either way, giroux probably slots somewhere in the 7 to 11 range among forwards for me. - stayinthefnnet
See, I go Crosby (blargh) and Stamkos.
Then I look at that next tier -- see, I think Malkin's not the player he was. I remember that MVP season when he had 50 goals, and I thought he was the best player in the world by a fair bit. I don't think he's that guy anymore, and I don't really know why.
I think Giroux and Tavares are equally dangerous; Giroux is more of a playmaker and Tavares is a pure scorer. Different, but to me, equally lethal.
I think the rest of the forwards behind Crosby and Stamkos are elite players, but at the end of the day, points are points. Giroux was third in scoring, a Hart finalist, and leads the league in scoring over the past four seasons -- that's not a fluke. That's straight-up production, and to me, that sets him apart |

Yeah, doesn't much matter what your p/pg rate is if you aren't in the lineup. |
