That's not a tripping penalty. He tied up his stick and dude hit the boards. Bad call. Good defense by Shultz there. |

Yeah -- Pearson was freaking moving. He left Del Zotto like he was standing still |

Bill Burr said it right. Philadelphia had the perfect sports hero in Joe Frazier but chose instead to worship the fictitious 3 foot imaginary Italian. - Pixote Andolini

See, I go Crosby (blargh) and Stamkos.
Then I look at that next tier -- see, I think Malkin's not the player he was. I remember that MVP season when he had 50 goals, and I thought he was the best player in the world by a fair bit. I don't think he's that guy anymore, and I don't really know why.
I think Giroux and Tavares are equally dangerous; Giroux is more of a playmaker and Tavares is a pure scorer. Different, but to me, equally lethal.
I think the rest of the forwards behind Crosby and Stamkos are elite players, but at the end of the day, points are points. Giroux was third in scoring, a Hart finalist, and leads the league in scoring over the past four seasons -- that's not a fluke. That's straight-up production, and to me, that sets him apart - AllInForFlyers
i will definitely acknowledge an argument about malkin dropping off a tad. i dont know. i still think he is the most talented player in the world. more so than crosby. but the mental consistency effort is a huge thing, so when splitting hairs that could cost him. stamkos has really impressed me so far lately. he seems to have really rounded his game out. JT is largely based on the fact that i think he is only just starting to find his groove. i think he is the next big thing as the isles slowly become competent around him. the points for giroux are undeniable.
theyre not there just yet, but dallas' two studs are entering the equation too. like i said, i have that top 4 currently, and after that, giroux is just as good a candidate as anyone, but its hard for me to definitively say he is that much better than someone like say getzlaf. so phew. okay, as of now im tentatively holding to anywhere from 5 to 9 or so. (no anti orange goggles on, i swear haha)

That was a damned nice play by Umberger. - Jsaquella
I respect the opinions of others because they feel like they're seeing something, but I have to admit I'm not seeing what Umberger's not doing. He's killing penalties, not taking any, backchecking
I understand the points aren't coming freely, but he's doing some good things out there
If somebody tells me "that's not $4.6 million worth," then hey, I won't dispute that salary's high.
But from what I see, he can/has helped the team -- being responsible and doing the little things at the right time goes a long way |

Del Zotto and Schultz look pretty good as a pair. Del Zotto still needs to stay back a little though. |

Simmonds needs to be stronger on the puck and realize he's draped by someone and get it deep. Bad turnover. Need this Simmonds slump to come to an end. |

I don't think he's great or been very good overall. That particular play he did a good job of staying on sides and making the pass |

I'm not even a metal head but I believe they should be playing nothing but Maiden all game long. |
