I think they actually played pretty well that period. They gave up a few good chances, but that doesn't make it a poorly played period by any means.

Play somewhere in the middle of of this period and the first, and they take home 2 more points

It just felt like the Kings had them trapped in their own end for most of the period, while the Flyers really didn't have many chances at all. Let's hope they come out in the 3rd just as they did to start the game

Alt got dinged over the weekend. I think I'd rotate Ghost down and bring another guy up for a cup of coffee. He's shown flashes, but the areas he needs to do work in are very evident

Russian team that owns his rights will not OK another season in junior, so it's either Sabres or KHL

This isn't a shot at Mason, because I believe in him very much and a ton of the goals against him this year have been absolutely effing ridiculous, point-blank jobs in the slot

But there are times in a season where a backup earns multiple starts. I remember last year with the Rags, Chad Johnson got a series of consecutive starts because he was playing well

Emery shouldn't be punished for playing well and winning games/getting points

Not only this but Emery is a vet. He has starting experience. I've seen some people discredit what he's doing, which isn't fair. Facing Crosby and Malkin of the Penguins and facing Datsyuk and Zetterberg of the Red Wings isn't an easy task. Tonight he faces the Stanley Cup Champs and playing very well. Next up is Steven Stamkos and a very good Tampa Bay Lightning team. Would it be fair to Mason to be thrown to the Wolves? Would it be fair to take Emery out while he's playing wrll? The answer is no!
