Some amazing stuff right there -- I give Berube credit for that, because he understands that for all of Del Zotto's flaws, the ability to skate, pass accurately and skate with the puck goes a long way
Give Del Zotto credit for being competitive and earning the ice time, and Berube for giving it to him - AllInForFlyers
MDZ has steadily improved so far
would have loved to see him keep that puck in that led to the shortie but how many times did we watch that last year with Kimmo who is one of best?
MDZ has been a solid pick up |

They could've. Especially if they could win a freakin shootout.
And by the way, huge fan of Ray Emery. What that guy has done in his career. Nothing but admiration. - MJL
i'm really happy for emery. he's been great. |

He has been great. He deserves more ice time. The guy never takes a shift off.
He definitely deserves more ice than Umberger - 3flyerkids
a guy like Bellemare has everything to lose by taking a shift off because he could be back in Europe making a lot less, but I'm glad he's willing to work his ass off |

he was unlucky again, being on the ice for the 2nd goal...not really his fault. he made a dandy play coming out from the behind his own net to get the puck up ice on another play. i missed the first 15 minutes. didn't seem to get much ice. - hammarby31
I especially liked when he skated the puck from behind the net, through the crease in front of Emery, and between two LA forecheckers.
I'm guessing Gordie had a short conversation with him about that on the bench. |

I hope we have plans to keep MDZ and see where he is in 2-3 years |

With Coburn and Amac out, they need those puck skills. - MJL
It's early still, but I'll be honest: I hope he keeps it up and earns another contract
No player that young deserves to get ran out of the league just because his defensive skills needed improvement -- you don't have to coddle him, but from what I read about the end of his time with NYR and Nashville, it sure seemed like he got less rope than some guys in that league have gotten

not really an advisable move, but i love his confidence, and he's clearly got the ability to pull it off. |

What Del Zotto needs more then anything is confidence. Just a gut feeling, but I think his issues are mental. And really this is what can happen when a team faces adversity with injuries. They become more of a team. Other players get more ice time, and more of a chance, and take advantage of it. The Flyers won the game because they played like a team. When they do that, I don't care what anybody says. They're a good team.

It must have been a bumpy flight.
Geez Jon, it's only a point. And it's still only October. |

It would be amazing to have a guy of Del Zotto's talent work out, for basically nothing to start, when defensemen with any ability whatsoever are nearly impossible to obtain across the league
Still early, but he's been getting the job done enough to think about his future, from what I see
