There's no way Nolan gets fired unless something really stupid happens off the ice. They might fire him next summer, but even then, I'm not so sure. Right now, Murray may as well keep him around as the fall guy (i.e. the coach that was here before he was hired).

The greatest concern to me is all of these top draft picks and the Sabres just turn into Edmonton 2.0. No guarantee any of the prospects or future draft picks we get are going to turn into anything at all. THey actually need to play with good veterans that have a vested interest in the club. Currently the sabres have a bunch of F.A's collecting a paycheck.

Brought it up because I'm not completely sold yet, they've fired guys for PR purposes before. If they're committed to the tank then obviously not but if they're not I wouldn't put it past them to can him.

I don't think that's the real concern as far as being edmonton 2.0 Edmonton's top picks have consistently put up good numbers since coming into the nhl. Players with that much talent tend to be alright, the real scare is every other pick.

Will guys like Ristolainen and Grigorenko become the next pajaarvi and gagner? Hopefully not.

Benoit might be fine, but I have the feeling that if they send Meszaros down, he'll have a really terrible attitude and I don't want that in the locker room there.

I've been unabashedly critical of his hire from day 1, and I still think that this team is poorly coached, but if Nolan isn't much of a"gameplan guy" as his reputation supposedly indicates, then the real fault lies in not bringing an assistant or assistants that excel in gameplanning and strategy.

They're poorly coached for sure. This Sabres roster is a mess, both on the bench and behind it. Hopefully, for Tim Murray's sake, this really was by design.

Neither the Boston Bruins or Philadelphia Flyers, who are short on defenseman, have interest in Buffalo’s Andrej Meszaros, who carries a $4.125 million cap hit…
