Phaneuf missed about 5 minutes...not really worthy of a title IMHO.

Josh Gorges did not green light a trade to Buffalo in order to play on an NHL doormat team

Oh...

This exactly what he wanted...Play somewhere that winning wasn't imp and pretty much no one gave a FK about...

I once witnessed the lord jebus in a crispy pancake in a Southern Alabama truckstop, seeing this shattered vulcanized rubber image of our lord and savior just reminds me that our savior will return to hockey heaven with a #97 jersey. Boom.

"Josh Gorges did not green light a trade to Buffalo in order to play on an NHL doormat team"

Yes he did - Everybody and there dog knew that Buffalo was going to be a doormat team, The management is practically cheering for it to happen

Gorges is a fool if he expected any different

McDavid/Eichel anyone?

someone should fill Georges in about the whole Mcdavid thing.
not surprised though, good leader. was sad to see him go.

Ok I am going to play Tim Murray Today because this team needs to be rebuilt. Here are the moves I would make if I am Tim Murray.

Reinhart – Back to juniors he is not NHL ready
Flynn – Waive this guy he is too small for the NHL and does not have much talent
Stafford – Trade for the best offer I can get for him he is dogging it every night
Meszaros – Waive or trade just get him off this team; -10 enough said
Benoit – Waive trade or send to Rochester; -7 and cannot play defense
Weber – Send to Rochester he is playing like crap

Zadorov – Play this guy I do not want to send him to the KHL and let him go through the growing pain
McCabe – Bring him back up and Play him he too can learn to play in the NHL
Pysyk – Bring him up as well he is ready for the NHL
Grigorenko – He earned a spot in pre-season and can be on this Roster
Larsson – He is ready to play a 3rd line role and is ready to play now

Here are my lines
Moulson – Ennis – Gionta
Hodgson – Grigorenko – Stewart
Foligno – Larsson – Girgensons
Deslauriers – McCormick – Kaleta

Gorges – Myers
Zadorov – Ristolinen
Pysyk – McCabe

At least with this setup I would be more accepting of how much we suck. I would get to see young kids learn how to play in the NHL

unfortunately, the quality (or lack there of?) of your losses doesn't count.

I know Carolina is worse than us in the standings, and we beat them once, but if you watch them and then watch us, we are clearly the worse team.

When was the last time any team only got 10 shots on goal in a game. that's pathetic.

You guys don't have to be happy about it, but you all know what you signed up for this season. The current team is just bad, and that was known back on opening night. It's not likely to get worse, but it's not going to get much better. This year is all about a very bad team getting a high draft pick and building for the future. There will be other games like this one.

it's going to be a painful season of pointing fingers, hopefully they can get their feet on the ground one of these weeks to win a couple of games at least.

Girgensons only won 40% of his faceoffs last night. Larsson is a bit better on faceoffs. Also Girgensons is better on the wall and has the physical play. I can see Girgensons being a powerhouse on the wall because his willingness to battle.

the leaf only managed 6 shot on net vs NJ during a playoff (oxymoron for the leafs) game which eliminated the leafs.

I've never seen a team so blatenly obvious that they are tanking! There's no way in heck that you can make me believe that this team is that bad!! Purposely throwing games should not warrant a top draft pick. The only team right now that probably are not going to make the playoffs but work there tail off every game are the Calgary Flames. They deserve a guy like McDavid for there hard work, not teams that are throwing games on purpose!

Like I said in the Leafs thread: I don't think the players are trying to lose. Its more that management has just not provided the team the adequate amount of skilled players to win any games.

I have seen the puck explode like that off a cross bar a couple of times, one of which was not shot very hard.

McKee is just fanning the flames of hype. McDavid is a good player but that is circus hype and nothing more. If MCKee has never seen that happen I am shocked. It happens especially when you play outside and in practices. I have only seen it in a game I was playing once.

I think there was an NHL goal scored with a broken puck.

They cannot be that bad. In the cap era even the bad teams are usually in most games. Usually they have a combination of poor D, no backcheck and a bad goaltender. The Sabres do not have bad goaltending like say the Jets or the previous Oiler teams.

This is an obvious tank. Perhaps some players have been told to tank.

How has Stewart looked?

disinterested, like everyone not a goalie or named Gorges or Girgensons. Seriously, we look pathetic, no effort by anyone.

I'm honestly surprised the goalies go out there, they are constantly peppered with shots and have no defensive help at all.
