So, uh I hate to be the guy to ask this but Emery is going to own the starting job, isn't he? |

Just riding the hot hand. I'm not really concerned about who starts. Things will balance out and the better player will play. I think Mason is much more mature than he used to be. He understands the situation and won't get caught up in what the bloodsuckers will write. |

Agreed; there's nothing wrong with the second goaltender earning more playing time
Emery's a Flyer, too. This is a good problem to have -- hell, I still think that Laviolette playing him like, 10 or 12 straight back in 2010 was what led to his hip injury, because Laviolette likes to ride his No. 1s a little too hard for my taste |

It was a good win, they executed well, got confident and did a good job of keeping the intensity up. Even in the second, when the Kings piled up a ton of shots, the Flyers did a good job of keeping the bulk of them to the outside.
Emery was called on a few times to make big stops and he was great, yet again. The Flyers did a very good job overall and deserved to get two points tonight
Given the schedule and the injuries, you have to be impressed with a 4-3-2 start. |

Would it be unfair to point out that Simmonds has gone from our hottest to our coldest player? I ask because what if Lecavalier had a hand in why he was playing so well. |

We were having this conversation earlier today and people lost their minds when I suggested no matter the outcome tonight that Emery should play Thursday. I stand by what I believe. Give Emery Thursday and start Mason against the weaker Panthers Saturday. |

Absolutely -- I know that when it gets ugly that the lure of highly-rated draft picks creeps into nearly everyone's minds, but this team is sneaky good. Not perfect, but sneaky
Taking fewer penalties allows them to roll four lines and keeps them in games because they aren't giving up cheap PP goals, they are a little faster than last year as a whole.
And I'll keep saying it until I never have to see it again: Fraude Giroux is easily one of the top players in this sport. And Jake Voracek is looking like he's gonna have a monstrous season
If they can just hold on until Coburn and MacDonald get back and maybe make a sneaky little move for some kind of forward depth...they're sneaky good. Not perfect. But sneaky

When you look at the schedule this October and you compare the start to one year ago, there is no question. Looking at the offensive production of the players independently now and what they did a year ago. The loss of personnel due to injury. Our back up picking up the slack. Against all odds, where in a good position. |

Claude Giroux has already seen a Stanley Cup Final in his career. He's an elite passer. An all situations player and Captain for his team. The Philadelphia Flyers might not win a game without him. In the last two of three seasons he's come up third overall in points. In my mind he's a top five talent behind Crosby, Ovechkin, Stamkos and Malkin. Where Giroux might lack in defense, he provides in offense but is still up to the task of playing in his own end.
With this said Jake Voracek is overshadowing G right now. |

I want them to let Ghost continue to play unless he looks out of place or one of the injured Dmen returns.
I want them to leave Vinny out of the lineup. But that won't happen. |

it is. but the rest of his setup is sweet, even though i don't like kohos. for some reason he's the only nhl goalie that wears them. and he's been on fire. good for him. (frank) anaheim. |

Here on the coast I listen to the Flyers on satellite radio and enjoy Tim Saunders' delivery. But Steve Coates is horrible. His loud voice never stops or eases up. He's still parsing out the last play when the game has moved on. I hope the Flyers brass will also tire of this buffoon.
Flyguys played real well for most of the game and got great goal tending. Still, conditioning is a problem after they have expended so much in a period, like the first.
Kings TV heads making a big deal out of Kopitar being out. No mention of our top three D in the infirmary.
Flyers playing the game the right way.

That really surprised me to see him get the most minutes on the team. I figured he was a #5 at best. Still might be.
So good to see B Schenn get the winner against the LAK for him and for the fans. It was a Cinderella story that actually occurred for the Flyers for once
I hate to say it but we have a goalie controversy on our hands. It doesn't need to be an issue unless Mason makes it an issue. It could just as likely be a blessing.
Heck, at least we have one gaolie playing well- which is a huge plus for the Flyers over the past few centuries |

Flyers played well without our top defensemen. Looks like having a bunch of mobile puck movers helps this team generate offense, but it seems like we have trouble pushing the pick out of our own zone. They did good containing la to the perimeter for the most part though.
The play of the coots line seems to have dropped off this year. I think they played much better with akeson as the third guy on that line. Umberger would make a our fourth line better and I think it would enhance the third line letting akeson move up. |

Anyone that watches the Flyers knows, Emery is the goalie now, until he starts letting pucks in, and he will, then Mason is back. They have 2 mediocre to slightly above mediocre goalies to be honest and it's gonna be this way all year |
