Kootenay is a pretty poop team as well. Plus Myers is a terrible example, sabres were a playoff team his rookie year. And once they got the chance Grigorenko was sent where he belonged (AHL) and is doing well. - Sabresfan-365
One good kid can make a pretty big difference against other kids in Junior, but as long as the don't mind burning the eligibility the AHL would probably be 100% better than Buffalo.
Ideally you would have a good coach down there that can teach and develop all of your prospects there, but anywhere is better than Buffalo this year. |

I don't really mind either way, my guess is he starts in the AHL next year no matter what. |

It doesn't matter to me if Kootenay sucks, Reinhart should go back there. Let him light up the WHL and help Canada in the world jrs. He should be as far away from this mess as possible. |

To address the third part of the blog, "suck it up Sabres fans", we're in an unusual position. Most crappy teams got that way over a long period of time. Usually a combination of aging, ineffective ownership and dwindling fan interest. We are not the case. We have as good of ownership and fans as any league could ask for. Only a few years ago Sports Illustrated had ranked the Sabres as the strongest brand among major sports franchises in North America. Sighting value the fans received and how competitive they were in their respective league.
In Buffalo we have had a new owner take us on quite a journey. We didn't ask for Villie Leino and we didn't necessary ask to the be the worst team ever in hockey. While I appreciate Mr. Pegula very much, I wonder if you could get in a time machine and survey Sabres fans in 2009 and ask them if they would be interested in being the worst team of all for 2 seasons(and then some) in hopes of rebuilding for great players.
Ask them questions like: Could you tolerate being shutout in 50% of your games?
Would you still be a fan if they won twice a month? Would you still be a fan if they scored the least amount of goals ever? Would you still be a fan if you knew you would get spanked by Toronto every time? The responses would be interesting |

I plan on running for president of Tank Nation. I'm not getting antsy/nervous at all. Stay the course and to the victor go the spoils (McDavid, Eichel). Now Neuvirth is getting me nervous with him playing so well. Get him the tank memo stat!! - GilPerreault11

Michael nice blog.
Kaiser nice post.
Would Kooteny be as bad with Reinhart as they are without?
The current state of the Sabres is pathetic. The on ice product is unwatchable. Stupid mistakes, poor defense and lack of effort have little to do with the quality and quantity of skill on the roster. Instead it points to poor management and coaching.
Ron Rolston was fired last year when we we're already in rebuild mode because of the lack of effort that was evident through the beginning of the season. I contend that the team under Rolston, which was worse than the current roster, gave much more effort than we have seen from this years team.
This roster knew it was overmatched in the beginning of the season. They knew from last year that they were in for an uphill battle. Then they saw how good Grigorenko was in the preseason, they saw that he could help provide offense for an underwhelming offensive team. Then they saw Tim Murray send Grigo down to Rochester. Instead of a top six forward, they got a raw rookie who is not ready to help the team yet. Who is taking a roster spot from better players that could help now.
These guys don't want to be embarrassed out there. They don't want to be punished for poor results when the management won't give them the best lineup possible to compete. When they play Meszaros and Benoit and leave Pysyk and Ruhwedel who are both much better in Rochester. When they have Reinhart in over Grigorenko.
This team needs scoring. Reinhart is not the answer right now. He should be sent down. Larsson is not the answer either. I do agree that he deserves the shot first because of his production in Rochester, however Grigorenko has the better offensive tools and can help the others around him score.
What message does it send to the team when you wont play the best players available? It's like tying one hand behind David's back and sending him out to fight Goliath. And then when David loses the fight, his coach is going to call him out for not trying hard enough.
Everything management has done has "Tank" written all over it. But then the players are punished for not being good enough, when management is making decisions preventing better players from playing. |

While I am guessing that his presence would probably change the fortunes of his junior team, I still prefer the latter.
That being said, if they are going to keep him here, they need to play him with guys closer to his own skillset. - buffalofan19
100th time i agree lol. Every game he shows more and more progress especially after sitting in the press box). IMO he starting to show he deserves more ice time. Also when your team is this bad he'll appreciate what its going to take to improve. I also like him in buffalo bc the more he hears about McEichel the more fire he should get |

Sabres' Cody Hodgson says being on fourth line doesn't matter to him. Ted Nolan says Hodgson is close to being a scratch.
