Can someone tell me how it is not a conflict of interest for Pronger to be on the Flyers payroll and also work for the NHL?

In all seriousness, though, from the little I've read, it sounds like their selection committee at that level is full of politics rather than just icing the best team they can. |

That whole situation infuriates me. If he took a job with the NHL, he should be forced to have retired. Which would have a HUGE impact on the Flyers salary cap.
If I was every other GM in the league, I'd be pitching a fit. It's cap circumvention and not right. |

Yeap. I wonder if an owner files a grievance with the league. It would kill any relationship with said teams though. Very awkward during owners meetings too. |

Cell phone insurance companies pay more claims arising from phones lost/damaged in toilets than any other category of claim.

5-2 for the other team... Honestly I don't even know if Buffalo has a game tonight or who they are playing but I'm almost positive it will be a loss. - jochfr

But if your phone is lost (like at the bottom of the lake) it's not covered.
Also if you don't have home flood damage but you flood your tub on accident, you're covered. |

It's bull sh!t.
IMO the Flyers should have to pay the piper on that contract.
Good for Pronger though, he gets to have his cake and eat it too. |

I've been saying for at least 2 years now that it's ridiculous that they can just put him on LTIR at the start of every season. Same thing with Boston and Savard. They were career ending injuries and the team should have to deal with the ramifications of it when it comes to the cap. LTIR is supposed to give relief to the teams that have players that will be out significant time, but inevitably will be back.
It's an abuse of the rule and I absolutely hate it. |

Savard's isn't an over 35 contract though, he could retire and it would have zero barring on the cap. So either way it's not cap circumvention.
Pronger on the other hand has a +35 contract and they should have to eat the contract and cap. He's retired and took other gainful employment. |
