Thats why I suggested it. EDM lacks a legit 2nd line center, and its been rumored that we have been discussing trade talks with them. I dont think VL needs to prove anything in his return, everyone knows what they are getting with VL.
The question is, who would we get in return for VL if we trade w EDM ? - MrBigglesworth
Well, your talking about trading an injury prone veteran center with a bad contract. It's probably not as much about the return as it is about if the trade is even plausible to happen at all.
Take what you can get. |

As bad as he is, he's better than most other options. The Bears are in a much better spot with a competent defense.
He's not really a game manager, as he's too sporadic. Then again, if he has a competent defense that isn't getting 50+ points scored on them, he's certainly good enough to put the ball in Jeffrey, Marhshall, Bennet, or even Fortes hands.
Christ, with Jeffrey and Marshall it doesnt even have to be a good throw. Anywhere in the general area around their head/shoulders has a good chance of getting caught. - mochoson
I think he's an average starter. Possibly, below average at this point. (Meaning I would rank him 16th or lower).
I think his problem is that he has too many devastating plays. Takes bad sacks at the worst times and throws bad interceptions on first down. He's just so unpredictable. The team would need to give him one of the best rushing attacks in the NFL like the Cowboys have done for Romo. I still don't think he's as good as Romo either. They just need to find ways to get the ball out of his hands as much. |

i most certainly can.
first off, for as much as i love hockey. I fail to see how one's hockey allegiance has somehow been anointed as the barometer through which we measure one's percentage of somehow being a particular city.
in its plainest terms, being "from a city" is nothing more than a mere geographic coincidence or choice, depending on your respective circumstance.

It's not really a bad contact after this year. More then half of his deal will be paid after this season. Only 10.5M left after this season. |

I hear you.
Hypothetically, if there was a trade with EDM, and it was VL going their way (he waives NTC), who could we get as return?
I'm assuming that top level prospect like Nurse, Klefbom, Marincin etc is out ? Howabout straight up for Petry who is in the rumor mill ?
Maybe I'm over-valuing VL, but I still think he is a solid veteran 2C and would be a good fit on paper on a team like EDM. |

Yeah. The Bears roster has major flaws. They should look to move Marshall in the offseason for some picks. Jeffrey is passing him and Bennett has proven to be a very good player and red zone target. - PhillySportsGuy
I'm a Bears fan and I was at the game last Sunday.. what a clown show. I think the offense is acceptable, but the D is that of a High school team. I've never seen it that bad in my life as a Bears fan. |

These trade proposals aren't realistic. These teams are looking for youth. Akeson is not a real prospect. They were asking for Kindl and Larkin from Detroit. Thats akin to Sanheim and Luke Schenn from Philly. |

I think the Flyers are pretty much stuck with Vinny til the end of the season at least, and most likely until after 15-16 when his deal drops to a real salary of only 3 mil per season. |

Exactly.
If I'm the Buffalo GM and you are calling me about Myers, I'm either asking for Couturier straight up or something like Laughton and Hagg and a 2nd. It may not be realistic, but that's what they are going to want. Don't forget, Buffalo is under no pressure whatsoever to move Myers in the first place.

I wonder why they would want to trade him. Seems odd to me. Unless he asked for a trade. The locker room in buffalo can't be a pretty place right now. |

Yep. Myers is signed for 5 more years, there's zero pressure to trade him for Tim Murray.
That said, if his game doesn't improve, he won't get as much as he's asking. In chatting with some friends on twitter who are Sabres fans, he's really not playing well. Far too many turnovers, he's finding himself out of position and getting to be a bit of a mess is how one put it.
Still, how many 6'8" guys with his mobility are there? Somebody will roll the dice. |
