Who would you rather have, him or VL? - bradleyc4
I'd feel more guilty hitting Briere with the Comcast truck than Vinny....speaking of which, I need to get an oil change for when they get back from Florida |

I have to admit that as a college freshman I was really into his "comedy"
But I learned fairly quickly that it was just a phase I was going through - mcefalu
A lot of kids in my high school liked him, but I felt he was pretty much just a "shock value" guy. Kinda like Lisa Lamponelli. At first, she seems really outrageous, then you realize there really isn't much there.
But that joke she has about sex with black guys is really funny. |

That's tough. In theory Briere is the faster skater, right?
But Briere also takes more stick infraction penalties, doesn't he?
Neither are good at playing defense. But both are PP specialists (of sorts).
I would rather have Vinny if flyers never use CBO on Briere.
But if we're talking swapping players with current contracts, I would say Briere |

By the way, I adore Chris Christie. I know he has his flaws, but god dammit he is entertaining. And I actually agree with him on a lot of fronts, which surprises me. He may not be the best person alive, but the man knows is at least fairly logical. |

Briere can also play wing but you want him at center. For me it's a toss up if we're speaking strictly regular season. |

They tried him on the wing, but he wasn't happy and he didn't produce. Dude needs to be a center. |

Briere was on wing with Scott Hartnell and Jeff Carter for virtually the entire 09-10 season until we switched him to center as a desperation move in the Boston series that saw Hartnell, Leino and Briere come to life. |

Ah. Congratulations! But remember: Heavy is the head that wears the crown!
Not too stunned about Ghost; the eyeball test says Berube's been hiding him at an unsustainable level for a defenseman |

Not saying I disagree. I also think they should have called up Manning to begin with just because of his experience, but what do they do if Manning ends up playing even worse than Ghost has been? It's the risk you take with calling up an inexperienced player, I get that. From what I know about Manning, he is more physical and the better overall defender (from a very small sample size we have seen).
I just don't think there is any guarantee that Manning is in a better position to handle more minutes vs the same competition Ghost was facing. - mcefalu
I think Berube has a plan. He knows Tampa will probably pin us in our zone 90% of the game so that "style" of play favors Manning....plus watching from the sky box will give him some perspective on where he has some opportunity to clean up his game. Wouldnt be shocked if they pan to him on camera and Kimmo/Coburn or Pronger is standing next to him talking through situational play on the ice.
I fully expect Ghost to be back in vs. the Panthers |

This makes me more sad then RJ having more penalty minutes then Rinaldo |

It's his six season in the NHL and he's regressed from his rookie year but he's still only 24. The Sabres could still possibly get good young pieces for the future in picks or 18-20 year old prospects. Chances are Myers won't get that much better than he is now but some teams may be willing to see if they can coax the potential out of him. - NickTheKid87
Sabres really look like they are going into Sixers full-on tank mode...
