As someone who didn't expect a whole lot this season for the Flyers, I'm very happy with a 4-4-2 run through a really rough stretch, and honestly, they have been in every game, except the Chicago game, with a chance to win in the third or OT/Shootout. - Jsaquella
The injuries have hurt their depth. Their specials teams top units are both very good, but there is a significant fall off after them. |

Absolutely. The boys came to play this month

No, it's really not, because that type of change happens 30 times a game - Giroux_Is_God
It does, but the problem was that Raffl jumped out on the ice early, and gained an advantage by getting open on rush down the wing that would of led to a scoring chance. That's why they called it. Tough call at that time of the game.

Factor in the injuries and the fact that the PK has been bad and it's pretty impressive |

bottom line the Flyers cannot beat the Lightning, Devils or Rangers - vejim
I feel more confident in beating the Rangers now, as long as we play them at home. |

The PK has struggled this season. They're definitely missing the injured guys, badly. |

Man, I think back to that 2 on 1 with G and Jake and Vorcek shanked that wide open net. Oh well.
Great effort and aside from the opening minutes of the first, they really battled well and had their chances. Too many men was a BS call but nothing as bad as the G penatly for holding. That was a sure fire 5 on 3 that they could have taken advantage of.
It's bad enough playing on the road, but when you have to play against the refs as well, damn near impossible to get a win. |

Yeah and having a 2nd PP unit with Schultz on it is pretty poopty too. The 2nd PP unit is a train wreck right now.
I think one positive to come from this has been the play of MDZ. I wouldn't mind seeing him with Coburn when he returns |

I can see why they called it. I do. PEB was lazy getting off, and Raffl jumped off and generated a potentially damaging rush right away. Was it too many men? Ok, maybe it was.
But here's the thing.
That's a call that's never made. 85% of changes in an NHL game are too many men on the ice penalties. They only really call the penalty when it's completely obvious. As in, we're here watching the TV and see like 16 players hopping over the boards for the other team, and you go "uhmmmmmmmmmmm"....those are the too many men calls that get made. I'll guarantee you no TB fan was yelling for TMM on that play. And that's ignoring the fact that this tick tack call was with 5 minutes left in the game. Kidding me? |

If it wouldn't have resulted in a scoring chance, they wouldn't have called it. But they can't allow a scoring chance in a tie game in the 3rd period to come from a player cheating coming off the bench early. If Bellemare had jumped off quicker, maybe they get away with it.
It's a tough call at that time of the game, but I think it was the right call.
