I don't want to get in the middle of this but who exactly has the job responsibility to ensure those things happen? - hereticpride
Ultimately the Coach would pay a price. But during a game, how exactly does a coach get the players to do what they have to do? Do we not think that the coaching staff is telling and coaching the players on how to adjust, and what they need to do to get back in the game?
All season long, complaining about how the Flyers haven't been a good 5 on 5 team. Lecavalier comes back, and he tries some things to see if it can improve. And the coach is called out for changing lines. Not to mention all day every day, posts are made about what lines they want to see different. Now when they lose a game, it's the coach screwed up, because he changes some lines. Did anybody think that Lecavalier wasn't coming back?

If the goalie give up a soft one, it wasn't him. You just didn't see the breakdowns in front of him
If the defense gets turned inside-out, well, the forwards needed to backcheck more
If you say it's on the players, then the response will be that you are scapegoating them
If you blame the coach, then the response will be that he doesn't play the games
If you blame the GM for the roster composition, then you are ignoring all of the good things he did
There's no one at fault when the Flyers lose -- because you're not smart enough to form an opinion about what you saw

No, copping out is saying "they simply got outplayed". That's a cop out.
Why is it a cop out? Because there COULD I said could don't say I didn't say could I'm not assuming or stating the fact that there WAS a reason or there IS a reason I'm saying COULD. THERE COULD BE A REASON. COULD.
There COULD be an underlying cause to them simply getting outplayed. That reason could be certainly be changes to 3 out of the 4 lines and on the PP.
Ignoring that possibility is the same as me not studying for an exam, getting a bad grade, and saying "I just got a bad grade, I guess." - Giroux_Is_God
No, saying they got outplayed is not a cop out. It's simply a fact. And I stated the reasons why they got outplayed. And it's not the line changes.

Well those are the coaches responsibilities, and it's on him and his staff to make those changes on the fly. If it wasn't they'd be watching the game with Homer and Hexy upstairs. |

Save your energy.
You're never going to win, it's like banging your head against the wall. It's pathetic. Numerous people have complained about his bullpoop, he's been banned numerous times because he's so willing to argue every possible semantic and several good posters who were fun to chat with and "watch" games with left the site because of him.
Just ignore him and enjoy the talk with people who are here to have an enjoyable time killer.

Well that's not true, because the players who were on the ice, are at fault. They got beat in the game.
legitimate criticism is one thing. False criticism is another. For instance, criticizing the players, for not getting enough traffic at the net, for not executing on the PP in the game tonight would be legitimate criticism.

What changes? How does a coach make a change or will a player to get to the net? Sometimes it's not about changes. And simply about players playing the game. Florida won the battles, and won the game.

So you don't think for one second that the changes to the lines had even a tiny bit to do with the impotence we saw tonight. Not even a possibility, even though EVERY line that was changed scuffled?
You don't think there's even a 0.001% chance this is the case? |

Very little if any. Changing what line a player is on, doesn't prevent him from winning a puck battle. It didn't stop the Flyers from executing on the PP. And it didn't prevent a single player from going to the net, and getting some traffic in front of the net, so Luongo didn't have a good look at pretty much every single shot.
The common refrain this season has been the Flyers lost, let's blame Berube. |

It wasn't the reason for a slow start....but it may have been a contributing factor....they slept through 40 minutes and had far to many passengers...plain and simple.
