You guys must be loving the season series this year. The Oilers are actually making the Canucks seem good. |

Miscarriage of justice with the Ference suspension. - sanfordnson
There is no justice in the NHL. They spin a wheel , where it lands is the amount of games they get.

Being almost 50 yrs old I can remember back in the 80's when the Oilers third line had more talent than our first line…so this is feeling pretty ok - yup! |

Those are pretty hard to find, even quite a few top 5 picks aren't NHL-ready. - Nucker101
Most top 5 picks aren't ready for the NHL, the only thing that makes them NHL ready is the teams picking them, they picked top 5 for a reason, they need better players. |

Or Corrado. He was a first round pick, still young, you never know. They need to draft D now instead of the Patrick Whites or Jordan Schroeder's of the world. Luc Bourdon RIP was the last round one defenseman 2005. - VanHockeyGuy
Corrado was a 5th round pick. |

I thought last night was Kassian's best game so far this season. He wasn't rewarded but he has been driving the net more recently and taking more shots. That third? line if it keeps playing well should match up well against the California teams.
I think Horvat most likely slots in on the 4th with Vey and Dorsett. When Burrows comes back it will be interesting to see who sits. Matthias would of been my first choice but he has been playing better recently and his size would be nice against LAK/ANH/SJS.
Vey deserves to stay with his PP production, leaving Dorsett who has played well so far and Hansen who WD seems to like. I can't imagine Kassian being sat at this point either unless he does't something really dumb against Colorado. |

This is why I have such a huge issue with the suspension. The league had an opportunity to mitigate any future retaliation by levying a correct length of suspension for a repeat offender and this incident becomes a non issue. Instead the league is more interested in creating rivalries and stories at the expense of the player safety. I keep thinking about the Moore incident and wonder if the league had just stepped in and suspended Moore for 5 games for the Knee on Knee collision and there would have been no need for vigilante justice.
I wonder if there are stats that shows the suspension and the team the foul was committed against. For example if the teams are in the same division, conference the suspensions are always less then if they are cross conference. This instantly creates the hatred and rivalries between the teams to sell more tickets and get more TV viewership. |
