I know you probably won't agree, but I think his brain knows what to do, but the body/will sometimes are lacking. - jmatchett383
Too small of a sample size for me to this point. Umberger plays well defensively, and without the puck. But he needs to be better offensively and contribute to that. He isn't generating much offense to this point. That needs to improve. |

Without going through all of this, I may not renew next season. If I didn't love my seats so much, I wouldn't have renewed after last season. - jmatchett383
Live hockey is great. The problem is the product at any level as we both agree.
We moved to and from Berks County rather suddenly but kept the Royals season tix as we enjoyed the friends me we made there and the experience. But I am having the same type of problem with the coaches system there and the fact they dont have a playmaking center, but have a lot of finishers and dunce playmaking not getting them puck with any deception or creativity. And at that level, Derek Mathers needs to be down there instead of the AHL keeping the $500-$600 a week goons off the skilled players. And Maxim LaMarche and Brett Flemming need to be down there as much as possible. Some teams are fielding mostly AHL players on assignment with 2 affiliations, dont ask me how the cap gets circumvented
However in the scheme of things, even though it takes the same amount of time to get to the arena in South Philly as it does to Reading, the amount of peripheral costs adds up just like any event.
Tolls, fuel ( 120 mile round trip), parking though cheap by city standards.
Like I said in an email to their team president, I dont have to drive 120 miles and spend all this money to be miserable. I know a lot of people who will make me unhappy for free. The only way you can cast any weight with teams is to get people to cancel their tickets and do it in numbers that get noticed.

What about him not pursuing the puck with any tenacity and/or backchecking hard on a consistent basis?
Edit: I typed, "hard on." - jmatchett383
I don't think he has been doing any of those things you mentioned. I have said it before. If he can't score he better make him self noticeable ( in a positive manner)
The last time he won a board battle was in 2007!

A slow skating constantly injured defenseman? - jmatchett383
Best line I have heard in a long time. I needed that laugh, thank you.
Maybe a 2 headed slow skating constantly injured defenseman who gets caught flatfooted trying to decide if he should stand up at the blue line or back into the goalie

So.....
I got an 89.5 on my PnT exam.
He reviewed it because the average was so bad and dropped questions.
I jumped from a 78 to an 89.5 on the hardest exam I've ever taken.

Per Carchidi, Berube thinks that Simmonds, Umberger and Lecavalier can create "lots of" O-zone cycles because of their size.
They rarely have the puck, but they're gonna cycle |

Lecavalier healed, so Berube needed to juggle 3 of his 4 lines. |

But why not just move PEB to the 4th line and keep the wings constant? |

That picture, as well as his nickname, are probably very offensive to peoples of Native American ancestry. We must now refer to his as, "Bloodline-appointed leader of tribal community Berube." |

That mask is what? Circa 1975? He should have had Jaws swallowing Quint on his mask!

If this conversation took place in 2008, I'd agree with Berube. |
