Him getting canned can't come soon enough. - JFlyers00
I give him all due credit for last year in doing what it took to get the team to the playoffs. That stuff matters to me. And he doesn't control player acquisition.
hell, I even think his system is sound defensively, and they score enough goals for the talent they have.
But I wonder if he is one of those coaches who is just too stubborn for his own good. Like Laviolette before him, it's one thing to have a system, but at some point, you have to take a look at the pieces you have and make adjustments and hard decisions |

You think? Huh -- can't say I would throw myself off a bridge, but I would acknowledge that as a tough deal, with Coburn and Kiwi out for this long - AllInForFlyers
Its certainly possible. |

He deserves some credit for last year, but I feel like he gets too much. The turn around last year was mostly due to Giroux turning it around and backpacking the team. But that's my opinion.
He does have some positives like you've mentioned. I like his system and it ends there for me. His negatives heavily outweigh the positives.
His bias is enough to drive someone crazy. The comments about Cooter. I also can't stand the traditional line combo of:
Primary scoring line
Secondary scoring line
Checking line
"Energy" (possession black hole) line
They have the forward pieces to roll 4 lines. I even think they could put together a very nice top 6 that will leave the opposing team questioning which line to use their "shutdown" players on.
This is a middle of the road team. That may or may not make the playoffs, then may win a round maybe 2 if they're lucky depending on match ups. This isn't their year to win it, and Berube is coaching this team like its now or never. |

You're right, let's break up wing duos that have been playing well so we can balance things more evenly. It's worked well so far. - jmatchett383
How have they been playing so well? The Flyers have been very inconsistent as a team at 5 on 5 play, and every line has been inconsistent.

It's all in the wording, because you question how he perceives what is happening.
I question him, or anyone, who says, for example, that Couturier/Read will score more points "if they do the job right."
They are doing their jobs; when you start on the d-zone like they do, not getting scored on is absolutely a successful shift, every time out.
But you can't equate point production with them doing the job right, like people perceive Bergeron and Toews, etc., because those guys get plenty of NZ and o-zone starts - AllInForFlyers
He didn't equate point production or state that they will score more points. He stated that if they do the job right, that they're going to get plenty of offensive chances.

eh, I wouldn't read too much into beroob's words
I get the impression he doesn't give a fck about what the media think - Marc D
Now that is true. Berube is a smart hockey man. He knows that they are carrying a heavy load. But like you said, he doesn't have a lot of options.

If you look at his current line deployment, there is balance on every line. That's not to say that it's all going to work. But it all makes sense with the personnel that they have. |

Your interpretation and mine are different, and that's fine by me
I'm sure someone else will want to dance around semantics with you tonight, but I am absolutely not in the mood for it, so whatever |

It just bums me out that in the 5 years in the league, Hall has played here only 1 time. Either a non-home-and-home year or injury all the others. Sigh. I enjoy the whipper-snapper. |

I'd prefer before 11/12, so I don't have to decide whether to bother going to the executive chit chat I get with my ST this year. If he's still coach, I'm afraid if I go my eyes will roll right out of my head. |
