I think he can go to the AHL after the OHL season if over. Hopefully the Comets have a good seasons and go on a long playoff run. I would rather Hovat play meaningful playoff minutes in the minors than a few protected minutes in the show (if we make it in).

Good point. Forgot about that option. That would be Ideal. Comets look like they could be a very good team this year. Team is already solid, but could add the likes of Horvat, Cassels, Virtanen, and McCann if any of those guys have short runs in the playoffs in the CHL

forgot to mention Hutton as well. Really curious to see how he would match up against pro hockey players

Whatever happens over the next few games it will be interesting. Can't wait to see how we really compare to the division elite. Take away the Avalanche game, if the canucks get 4 out of a possible 6 points against Ana, LA, and SJ then I have to rethink my perception of this team.

2 out of 3 wins would indicate to me that this team is not an also-ran but us a legitimate playoff team.

I'd also like to see how they play, if it's a game where Miller stands on his head but the team gets outplayed and win a shotoout or something similar, I'll still be sceptical.

Keep in mind the only reason Horvat is in the lineup tonight is because Burrows is still on suspension. He would need to have a very nice game to supplant one of the veterans for more time on this trip going forward.

Shawn Mathias will sit. He is what he is and if horvat is even close to him and better at face offs he's gone

Lines in practice are:

Sedin Sedin Vrbata
Higgins Bonino Vey
Matthias Richards Kassian
Dorsett Horvat Hansen

Edler Tanev
Hamhuis Sbisa
Stanton Bieksa
Burrows Webber

- belcherbd

HANSEN goes from second line to fourth. That has to be good for his confidence.

Agree. The measuring stick is team play, not individual play.

I'm not a big fan of Vey as 2nd line winger but we already know what Hansen and Kassian bring. Not a whole lot right now. So give Vey a shot and see if it works.

Saying that, Higgins and Bonino will have to handle the back-checking and defensive assignments because that's not Vey's strength.

And I don't want to see Vey play 2nd line wing against any of the 'Cali three'!

We don't really have a 4th line...Willie himself said that after the Sedins he doesn't number his lines or list depth charts.

He isnt a 2nd liner so him being there in the first place had to be a boost for him lol

At least because of that the players on the 4th line arent wasting away playing 6 min a game

That's because the Canucks have a 1st line and 3 3rd lines

Haven't seen Vey yet on the wing except maybe on pp and I am not really sure what position he is playing there. Would like to see more offense there, Vey is as good a choice as any.

I wouldn't mind seeing Kassian on the 2nd line for a spell. Hope some guys play well so WD will have to rethink where Burrows should slot in.

You need d help. I'm taking the risk with Stamkos being injury prone.
