i'm not sure i understand what it is with this team and their policy of dressing 'veteran' players no matter what they do, yet essentially punishing younger guys if they don't play like gods immediately.

so, different coach, different GM.. but Bourque might as well be Gomez. No benching, still a prime spot on the lines (relative to his production/effort). Is it some sort of mandate from the team owners?

sure, Therrien has had success, and likely still will, but why is the damn Jacques Martin school of coaching the default panic mode for this team?

What? PAP had a bad couple shifts? bench him for a period! Bourque plays like he's 3/4 asleep for the majority of his ice time... let's just keep giving him chances, we're sure he'll snap out of it. after all, there's no way he can beat the Gomez record of absolute pooptiness.

I know a lot of people hate Eller, but how about he gets to play with someone other than (frank)ing Bourque? Dale 'Sarah Jessica Parker Face' Weis gets top line minutes to try and spark something though.

I know this is a useless rant, but for years it just seems we get the exact same managing style of players.
Eller played really well with the 2 Gallys, but hit a bit of a cold streak, so he WILL NEVER PLAY WITH THEM AGAIN , but players like Gomez, bourque, and Deshairnais never, ever get anything other than 'let's just keep them where they are at for another 40 or 50 games, i'm sure they will come around'

Yeah yeah, Eller sucks, gretzky would have looked like poop playing with Bourque, who's only move is to skate real hard for 3 steps, enter the zone, lazily toss the puck at the net from the blue line and then stand, stunned as the play goes the other way and finally meanders over for a line change so he can take a nap on the bench.

Get him and Myers ... that's a start.

How can they get chemistry whit each others when they never play whit the same line mates... Look like a garage league team were they split the teams right before they play. Lead to bad defence and no make up plays up front.
