Flyers are 6-3-1 in their last 10 games. Wonder if the talk in the Flyers threads will reflect that or not? - MJL

They still have some big question marks. The LWs with Raffl out. What D men will sit when Coburn and AMac come back. What the hell is up with Matt Read. etc.
Can't complain with wins though. Especially with the lineup as beat up as it is. - hereticpride
Matt Read was solid tonight. He'll come out of it. Too good of a player. The Dmen situation will work itself out. And Raffl is a loss, but it's an opportunity for other players to get a bigger chunk.

I wish Bellmare was 22 instead of 29. Not saying that is old, but damn, he is turning out to be quite the player. - Pelle31Forever
it's better this way, really. if he had been here at 22, he'd likely have been ruined and traded before turning into the versatile, 2-way player he is now. |

You're right, lousy wins. I much preferred the 2-1 loss to Florida last Saturday.
Much better if they had lost. Then think about how much more there would be to female dog about? |

What would Streit have to do to warrant keeping him in your eyes?
I only want 2 defensive defenseman in the lineup ideally. The other 4, I want mobile two way defenseman. - MJL
Honestly? Become 4 years younger. I just think they Flyers would be better in the long run trying to get some assets for the future out of streit while he has value instead of holding onto him and possibly just being 5.25mil in dead cap space when the rest of the kids could be ready to make the jump to the NHL. |

Jake tied for the league lead in points. Three of the top four teams are Canadian. Flyers near the bottom of the penalty minute column.
This is a strange season. - hereticpride

I think you're forgetting how scary the Amac-Coburn pairing was - aflyerpower8
Yea I would much rather do something like this
Coburn/MDZ
Streit/Grossmann
Schenn/Amac
The Schenn/Amac pairing seems to do well enough anytime they are put together. Or if you decide to Bench Schenn instead of Schultz, just slide him in there with Amac.

On Tuesday the 18-40-17 line did fairly well in shot attempts.
The 18-40-76 line did very poorly tonight. |

So Streit has to become 4 years younger to keep him? I'm not sure you realize just how good Streit has been for the Flyers.

The key for this team has been, and will continue to be, how well they can sustain the good play. On any given night they can skate with and beat anybody. The reverse is true, too.
Right now, just about everything is clicking. The defensemen have done a good job as a group, and the forwards have provided good puck support and two way play. Mason and Emery have been strong. The PK has been better. They're getting offense from secondary lines.
We all hope they can sustain it. |

If we have to feel bad for losing to the good teams, we should get to feel good for beating the bad teams |

One of the more surprising stats to me so far this season is Giroux leading the league in SOG but only has 2 goals to this point. It's good to see him shooting more but it's crazy more haven't gone in. |

Wins are worth two points in the NHL standings. Where do I find the perspective column at in the standings? I looked and can't find it. |

So Streit has to become 4 years younger to keep him? I'm not sure you realize just how good Streit has been for the Flyers. - MJL
And I don't think you understand the point I'm trying to make.
I think the long term value of the assets you could potentially get by trading Streit now and the spot it opens up 2-3 years from now is more valuable to me than getting 1 to 2 more years of ok to good play from him. I'm not saying he's played poorly and getting rid of him will improve the current team. I just think our eyes should be more towards the future than present.
Edit: I shouldn't say by trading Streit now but instead next year IF Ghost makes the leap. |

I think he is part of that future. No reason why he can't remain productive throughout the contract. You can't just have a defense of all rookies.
