Have you ever played hockey??
http://www.wikihow.com/Hockey-Check
- see #5
The proper positioning to take a check is not facing the player, is to turn your shoulder and hip into the incoming player. Zadorov was in this position until he lost sight of the puck and turned away from the player exposing his back to Sekac.
You really do need to watch the play, and know hockey, before you respond

Well that wasn't snotty.
I have watched the replay and from what I have seen is Zads going to the boards to retrieve the puck and gets blasted in the numbers. I havn't seen this last second turn. This argument is silly. |

If you're trying to prove a point, you never start with "have you ever even *insert action here*?"

I fear we all knew what was coming as soon as our bloggers even touched the subject . Both players were in the wrong . But what cracks me up is the Canadian fans and their contempt for anything negative towards their almighty franchise . Move on . Let's see how you react the next time one of your players is subject to such a hit . You will be screaming for the death penalty.

I'm just waiting for payback. IMO Zadorov was the wrong choice to hit like that. |

2 Sabres blogs about this and you're asking the Montreal fans to "move on".

Funny - habfanforever
Yes that is what I am saying . They laid out the facts and the majority of Hab fans are so Butt hurt it is comical . I can't wait for the reaction from your fan base when one of your players is on the receiving end of such a careless play.

I don't think it matters who was hit, we will get some payback regardless. |

We have been on the receiving end of multiple bad plays and of course we would be andgry as would ANY fanbase would. However things happen so fast that there is a very fine line between what is acceptable and what could be deemed as "dirty". What happened between Sekac and Zadorov was merely one guy finishing his check and another guy (awkwardly) taking the hit to complete a pass. If Kreider's hit on Brodin didn't get a second look, this doesn't even deserve a discussion, let alone 2 blogs about it. |

I never deemed the hit dirty . merely careless . But the reaction of Habs fans to this sort of thing happening to one of their players is quite different than what you are portraying. Buffalo fans are not allowed to react to such a careless hit? |

Friend on Facebook just posted this, but I don't know where he heard it from:
"Kim Pegula just said they pick a goalie every year in a draft, because you never know. Referencing a football book about QBs. QB too please!"
Cool to hear ownership mention that, and as he added at the end, PLEASE do it with the Bills as well!! |

Another thing that doesn't get brought up is the fact that Pegula will be willing to pay FA's money up front to sign here, Wilson and Co. had a lot of back loaded deals to save money in the short term. This should help |

Nolan on Benoit "Benoit was a real good player for us, so it's time for him to get back in and do what he can for us."
Translation: we've been playing way much better with him not in the lineup. |

Every fan base is allowed to moan and groan about questionable hits/plays. Nothing abnormal about that. People just get to debating about the severity of different hits. |

Funny How Eakins was such a hot commodity not too long ago . I really think it has become a nasty culture in Edmonton . It comes all the way down . Starting with the owner . - Maximum Signal
Notice most every Canadian team has nasty culture surrounding it? Then all these Canadian players who are either free agents or have NTC's listing all Canadian teams as ones they don't want to play for? It's a huge issue and I would like to see a hockey writer do a peice on it. |

Probably a combination of pressure and success. Pressure of playing in a canadian market and they don't need to win to stay relevant the way LA would have to. |

i think the stronger issue to all of this is the fact that montreal had to go to a shootout to beat buffalo.. |
