Jensen just got called up from Utica.

Who's injured other than Kassian? Maybe Vrbata?

Having your first two lines about as quick as a bucket of molasses is not ideal. On the bright side, all of our high end wingers have an abundance of speed, so if they end up making the team soon we could see that remedied

Having a speedy winger with the Sedins are as useless as tits on a Bull.

The best part about winning a cup now is all the players can continually show their rings to Kesler and Lu when ever they play them.

Shhhhh. These thoughts must be kept to one's self, never to be uttered out loud. It's like a grown up version of Bloody Mary, except it's Torts that will pop out of the mirror, and he won't kill you, but he will make you play dump and chase and block shots.

Dudes got Sakic like Release. No I wouldnt. Especially considering Kesler is selfish and made of glass.

Bones has a heavenly precise shot, his aim is ridiculous, and as far as I know, He doesnt get injured 3 times a year.

It is faaaar to early to crown Benning for winning this trade. But look at Bonino on an average team, playing with average players and putting up the numbers he is.

And look at Who Kes is playing with on an elite team. His numbers aint as good......

- vancity787

I've said it before but Kesler is in the exact same position now with Anaheim than when he was here. He is a second line Center playing with top 6 tweeners on a team that relies on a elite top line. To suggest that he is playing with better players now is silly, as is suggesting that Bonino is a superior player after watching 14 games.

Like it or not the majority of the hockey world still see Kesler as a better player than Bonino.

I would take Kesler over Bonino all day long in a straight up trade, as would anyone who takes off the rose colored glasses.

Don't get me wrong I am very happy and surprised that Bonino has performed as well as he has so far, it looks like I will have to eat crow on him and Miller, but holy poop small sample size. Bonino will not continue to score on 21% of his shots, while Kesler scoring at 7.9 % is a much more realistic number for either player.

I was thinking more of the second line. In Burrows' spot

Now that I think of it....

Maybe Vrbata is pretty banged up then? I guess they could've just rolled with the same lineup if it was only Kassian.

My Sestito point stands though.

Edit: Unless Sestito himself is still banged up.

Could be Vrbata. Jensen played well with Hank last year so who knows

I'd hope he'd be the one getting that spot instead of Vey or Hansen.

Kesler - Bonino: Kesler is still doing really well in Anaheim - defensively strong, winning faceoffs and still has good point production. Though I think for the nucks, we've benefited more from secondary scoring than from a defensive forward.

The team: Our defensive depth is deep - but weak. Still not sold on Hamhuis - think he's not very solid on the backend. Sbisa is a disaster. Weber has been OK, as has Bieksa. Not sure on Stanton yet. Edler and Tanev have been our top pairing...

Faceoffs: bad; Scoring: good!

I thought Sestito was injured. Didn't he leave last game midway with a torn or pulled groin muscle?
It could be Kassian is having concussion like symptoms. I would be surprised especially after being hit like the way he got hit against Edm and then it continued against Colorado. Jensen might draw in for Burrows or Hensen if he is not watching from the box.

Hit the nail on the head here. WRT the D I think Bieksa has been among the worst, Hammer has played pretty poorly, and Sbisa is starting to show signs of improvement. Edler and Tanev look very good

If you request a trade, And the locker room knows it. you're an absolute cancer.

When I first heard he requested a trade I was upset. Then saw his comments at the trade deadline and just wanted this douchebag off my team. When it comes to Kes its all about Kes.

I think that Bieksa has played better than his stat line. He's piling on the shots, but just hasn't hit the twine - that should change with time.

Believe it or not, I think Bieska was getting dragged down by Hammer. They were on the same line until the Colorado game. Since then Bieksa is a +4, Hammer is a -1.

Sbisa/Hammer was also responsible for that first goal last night...didn't forcefully clear the zone.

Am really digging the grit on the team - loved watching Dorsett and Burrows mix it up...

He was 25% on face offs, having him take an offensive zone face off is a waste of an oppurtunity.
- A_SteamingLombardi

I understand this, and he was better last game. But the team as a whole has faced challenges in the circle.

I guess I see the writing on the wall, he is going back to jr, which is okay.

Richardson was only 35% in the dot.

Faceoffs are a bit overblown IMO, as long as you're not horrible that's fine.
