Very ugly game. They should buy Bieksa out in the off season.
Hes even worse than he was last season. Cant imagine him next season. - boonerbuck
Lots of teams looking for Dmen. NTC is the issue. Would look good on Sharks Leafs Islanders Flyers Ducks |

I think this week is showing us all exactly what we expected. We are the next tier down from the Big Dogs. I don't personally like that , because once again we will draft in middle of the pack.
Bo and Virtanen are good picks that will help the team for years. We need top 10 picks , not 20 th overalls. |

The team definitely needs to make something happen as far as getting a different mix or playing a different style against a team like Los Angeles, you saw first hand when they're engaged in a game that's why they won two of the last three Stanley Cups….they're good!
IMO there are only two other teams in the National Hockey League that are that good, Chicago and San Jose. |

I think the team needs Mathias's size. He looked good with Bo last night and looked good as a 3 Rd liner. Dorsett looked good with them.
I still maintain this teams problem is the old core( not talking Sedins). The players that are making the headlines are the new guys. Everyone is complaining about the Bieksa's Burrows Edler HANSEN, Hamhuis. This team does not have enough sandpaper. No team fears coming to Vancouver to play against us. |

Not very impressed with Linden Vey last night, sure he got a flukey assist but he was 17% on the face-offs |

And yet he is still listed as a winger only in the hockey pool. I am considering writing Yahoo a lengthy letter of disapproval. |

Maybe the Ducks, if they prove something this year? But other than that, I don't think the Pens or the Flyers could match up against the Kings, they're just too good. Philly has the sandpaper you like, but not the all out skill and speed LA has. The Pens have skill but they don't have any sandpaper either.
LA has it all, the bench mark, solid goaltending, skill defenceman and stay at home defencemen, deep at center and scoring wingers, size, speed and skill. Hard to beat a team like that unless you've got a similar team.
I thought Hamhuis played good last night, I also thought Edler was ok, they joined the rush a few times and forced the Kings. That's was pretty much the only time when the Nucks had the puck, other than that the Kings owned the puck. |

Bo was matched up against Anze all night, he made some mistakes but it was his third NHL game, he was 55% in the face-off circle, he was only minus one and they had some good shifts. The kids defensive game is good, real good! |

Hamhuis and Edler have been ok but I hear some grumbling about them on different games. Hamuis I have heard a few times here that he looks slow.
Kings are the ideal team .they could grab 2 more cups in the next 3 years. |

That's the thing we do need Matthias' size and as up and down as Bieksa has been we need his grit out there too. I think Hamhuis and Edler 'might' come around if Benning is able to deal for another top 4 D that will infuse a little life into the players back there.
But it's becoming abundantly clear that Hansen and Burrows need to go. Tough tough situation there as Hansen's tradability is virtually nil and Burrows contract is an albatross.
Can only hope that Jensen makes the most of this opportunity (if he plays) and Bo starts to get a few points here and there.
Injuries are starting to pile up and man I hope we don't get caught with our pants down like last January where we had 8 starters hurt and/or out of the lineup.
Vey will come around with the right linemates. He's been a 50/50 player so far but I like what he has the potential to bring.
Just maybe we will see Jensen tonight. After WD but Burrows back on the Sedin line last night you may as well give Jensen a shot there.

Bo did great vs Kopitar. The kid is going to be an absolute stud for us in a few years. I just hope he can manufacture a few points here and there and maybe stay with the club. You can see more than a few of our players are playing injured. Vrbata, Dorsett, Richardson so man it's going to be interesting to see where things go if 2 or so of our 'top 9' are out for any length of time.

He was yelling across the bench to linemates what side he wanted the pass to hit his stick. Looked like a player that was snake bitten |

Why those guys can't pass like Hank, I don't know.
Burrows is working but not getting it done.
Either way, the team has to generate more shots on net. Won't get too many nights of that shooting % they had against Colorado.
I don't know if the team is still learning the system, but so often we get the puck and everything slows down- own and neutral zone. |

IMO the team missed Kassian's size and speed on that 3rd line. Sell Higgins while his value is as high as it's gonna get, don't get the Gillis syndrome and overprice everything or sell at rock bottom.
I like a third line of Matthias Horvat Kassian. Team really needs a stay at home big dman like Matt Greene. |
