Also the next person who mentions what Boyle, Cally or Stralman are doing should get a blanket party. Let it (frank)ing go.

The only way I see Glass as a fit is if he plays with Moore for defensive purposes. You can't put him with any offensive center
- TPC

Yeah I think you pair them with Stempniak who can add a little offensive punch and is also pretty solid defensively.

So EK says Carolina wants Staal and in return we either want Skinner or Faulk as the main part coming back. I'm torn on Staal. I know the rumor is probably nonsense but I'm 50/50 on trading Staal. If we can get good young talent in return such as what was mentioned maybe you do it if it looks like contract talks are breaking down. I wish Marc would just sign what Girardi signed and be done with it but the longer they go without a contract the more these rumors will pop up.

They are starting to look like the team I thought they would be coming into the season. Lose today and the season is pretty much over

Yeah, I didnt expect much from the D coming into the season. Figured they would be a 500 team.

You see Tony Siragusa, he looks like a fat Jack the Ripper.

Its a tough call now that the latest info is the salary cap is going to stay the same. If the team is playing really well, just going to have to accept that Staal might be lost for nothing during the summer. Cant trade him during the season if the team is playing good.

Did that yesterday. Should be able to burn leaves. I have an oak tree that probably makes up 1/2 the towns leaf collection.

I would say that if they were to trade Marc to Carolina, this is the list of Players I'd want in this order

1. Hayden Fleury
2. Skinner
3. Faulk

I'm almost positive if Fleury stays in Carolina he's going to make that team next year. If push ever to came shove and the Rangers felt that Staal was going the Callahan route, I would more than ok with a return of Fleury, a mid level forward prospect and a draft pick. (Not a 1st rounder cause nobody's moving them this year.)

The problem I see, unless the Rangers get back a decent D return that is a huge hole to fill. Now if the Rangers are out of it, get the best possible return.

I still dont understand how you lost it, and how it would take a week to get it back.

Good luck with the hockeystreams.

I think Faulk could replace Staal without damaging the teams chances. Skinner on this team? The possibilities are endless.

It is still just a rumor, I highly doubt it happens. I am 80% confident Staal will be resigned. Both teams want it, sometimes it takes time

I hope he does just to put an end to 3 year old rumors. But until it happens the scenarios are fun to mess around with. Also having those 3 centers moving forward (brass/step/skinner) could be a good young core to build around.

I agree. The longer the rumors go, the more affect it will have on both Marc and the team. Get the deal done or trade him before the holiday break and let him literally spend the holidays with the family in Carolina.

Bottom line is that if you chose to talk contracts before or during a season, then you risk the rumors and distractions. Otherwise, let the (team's) season run its course and try to resign (or trade) the player(s) before free agency starts and avoid the distractions. You run a risk either way. I guess it depends on which risk the teams wants to have.

I dunno. I just don't like how the rumors have started already. I guess it was bound to happen, though.
