Great move by Berube. Lecavalier did not look comfortable in that slot position on the #1 unit. Much better on the off wing on the 2nd unit. - MJL
Nonsense. Vinny set up Giroux for a PPG in the 5-on-3. Therefore, based on that sample size, it will happen every time they're on the ice on a PP together. |

Yes, you called him adequate, and then pointed to a small sample size to judge whether or not he was better. And I showed a similar sample size to show that CSP was inadequate. The point was, let's give Mason more than a handful of games this year to judge whether or not he's adequate, inadequate, or above adequate.
"Adequate" seems wrong when you type it. - jmatchett383
Our beloved Bill took the time to judge his puck handling, lateral movement and glove in this thread. I'll let him know he's rushed to judgement.
YO BILL!!!! LITTLE QUICK ON THE TRIGGER BROTHER! WE'LL GET BACK TO YOU WHEN IT'S A GO!
Let us know when he's played enough games to judge him.
I'll wait.
(did this come off snarky enough or does anyone think I understated it?) |

He's 32nd in GAA and 21st in SV%.
Do we really want to argue adequate? - mayorofangrytown
believed you were talking about his overall performance as a flyer, to date, not the small sample size of this season only. even with his low numbers this year, so far, he's been good. he's gotten sharper this last stretch and is finally getting some support at both ends of the ice.
but that's fine. if you think he's adequate, have at it. i don't really care what those numbers are in relationship to the rest of the league. |

'Adequate' relates about evenly to today's 'meh', correct?

Do you really want to argue based on a nine game sample and ignore the other 73 games he has played for the Flyers? - Feanor

Would you otherwise say he's adequate? I'm trying to drum up some positive vibes for being adequate?
My late teens and early twenties dating profile revolved around adequate. I think it's getting an unfair shake. - mayorofangrytown
When a woman says something is adequate, it usually means she's concealing possibly hurtful news from you.

I call him adequate because he isn't exactly setting the world on fire but I don't worry about him. |

I'm just amazed we're (the thread) actually arguing "adequate" like I kicked the feet out from under the guy. |

As far as I know, your amateur status is gone once you get paid, which is why Canada always had issues since most of their players were in the CHL, which pays them (minimally). - jmatchett383

i'm not arguing - just disagree with your definition of adequate. in my view, he's been better than that over the duration of his flyers career, and he's a viable #1 option for the long haul. |

I always liked Boosh, but Mason is twice the puckhandler Boosh was. Mason may be in top 5 of current league in that area. I'd also put Mason's glovehand and lateral movement in the upper one third. - bmeltzer
he's better than boosh ever was. and i liked bewsh. |
